newly installed setup courtesy of dann.. hardest part of the install was the dump pipe, the compressor housing has to be removed for the dump pipe to squeeze out of the car.

Are just match porting? or going for some shape?

Matched, and took the ridges and casting marks out, thinned the walls between the ports a little and took some of the 'belly' out of the sides of the port walls where the castings get bumpy close to the valves, also had soft valve seats so took the lip off the back of them.

Big improvement, but unlikely to help in stock form at all, would be likely to need boost to see gains. Time will tell.

I've seen Dad try 4 or 5 different porting combinations over the years doing 2F engines and it can make a huge difference on an NA car... but when its boosted i've seen him get around 20-30rwkw at the same boost.

Edit: I would try sussing out someone with some experience in porting drag racing cylinder heads... and do you have access to a flow bench?

I got some advice from a B series expert and did the work alongside a local builder who has a LOT of race engine experience and with a flowbench.

However on this engine which will for now be run as a stock engine, with just intake and exhaust I imagine the cams will be the bottleneck and therefor the ports wont really help much in this stock configuration, Ive been wrong before though.

It can be a bit of a dark art from what i've read too.... like if you open it up but the cams arent big enough the velocity of your gas is less than ideal... bit i know a lot of Dads ports... particularly with rotaries are much more about the shape to get the gas moving fast.

Yeah i just sorta started having a bit more of a browse and found some stuff i could jam my 2 cents in.

I'm Chris, Daniel's 21 y.o. son

...I am by no means an expert in this stuff just constantly peeked over Dad's shoulder since i was like 4 and I developed my own interest and read up on stuff and then talk about it with Dad and ask questions, and I am always fascinated with physics... so the physics of motorsport is extremely interesting... It's nice to have an interest to escape from the dry studies of a commerce/law double degree haha.

pats first ever time at the strip, only got 3 runs in.

99mph first run, he dropped the clutch at 2000rpm not knowing he could leave the line whenever he wanted. Then smashed the 1st 2nd 3rd rev limiters and missed a shift.

2nd run 105mph, bogged it smashed the limiters and missed another shift.

3rd run went good but the timeslip says it ran a high 11 at 120mph so not sure if thats right or not?

Video of second run.
