Re: Joe's NA6
Well that was an interesting thing to discover. Went to empty the radiator and less coolant than expected came out. Had a quick poke around and discovered a crack in the bottom radiator hose. Not a brilliant thing to discover but at least it's an easy fix. I even had a spare hose sitting in the track bag so all was well.

Re: Joe's NA6
Replaced the plug leads last week after noticing that two of them were in more pieces than they should have been.
Entered the NSW club training day at Marulan in March and have even decided to drag dad along too. It's his birthday that weekend so I figured a day on track in my car would be a suitable present.
Will need to check the front brakes soon to see if my uneven pad wear issue was sorted after the last clean out otherwise a full rebuild might in order.

Re: Joe's NA6
Uneven pad wear was fixed when I last regreased them! Huzzah!
The club day at Marulan was good fun as always. Had two laps at an identical 46.97 but both were quite different laps. The first lap peaked higher going down the hill but had a worse last corner. This obviously tells me that there's some time still left in it

Very decent going around Marulan!
I love it there, so suited to light, nimble cars.
So glad they have timing there now as well.

Not sure if they do but the club day sure didn't. I'm basing my times off RaceChrono and an external GPS receiver.

Re: Joe's NA6
Solid day at the MG Motorkhana yesterday. Pretty sure I took out the hotly contested (all-be-it slightly made up) "fastest convertible" class, might have even pipped fastest RWD if I was overly lucky.
Pics to come later.

Re: Joe's NA6
Results are in.
Third outright, first in class B
Also first in the made up fastest RWD class, being behind a Clio and a GT-R in outright standings. Apparently I really stuffed up the fourth test as I ended up about 15th for that one, which ultimately cost me second place. Still, can't complain too loudly!

It's not clean any more Dann. Hasn't been for a while and probably won't be ever again.

Still happy though (provided I don't think too hard about it).

Re: Joe's NA6
Well now its all out in the open i can say I really like it how it is.
It aint what my car is, and even worse, when people come up and see it in person they laugh that its far worse in real life haha.
I do like a car that looks like a tool, a piece of machinery, it gets cleaned and maintained enough to keep it going, and then its treated like a tool for fun. For enjoyment.
perfect.
10/10 Joe.

Re: Joe's NA6
Thanks guys
After noticing that the alternator belt was a little worse for wear at the last motorkhana, I went a grabbed a replacement that week (5-6 weeks ago now..). Given that there's another khana on next weekend, guess what I finally got around to doing today!

Re: Joe's NA6
Another khana last weekend in stupidly cold conditions. It was only ~0 degrees when we turned up for scrutineering at 8, but didn't hit 5 until almost 1pm. At least that's my excuse for the beanie and hood combination.
