Looks great.

At first it looked like the lights are upside down with the cut off line. But projected on the wall with a nice cut off line.
I reckon this is a proper upgrade for pop up headlight MX5s.

This way you can have the lights pop up only half way like some NAs have modified and still get full light beam.. what you think?? haha

If the angle of the internal components was changed, you could have a lesser angle.

Bottom lights up for high beam. It's identicle to the top. Output is exactly double

October 11

Not much has happened with the car since the last update. Its getting to the stage where i can just pull the covers off on the weekend and enjoy it...

Early September there was the annual Presidents picnic held by the club, of course we took part in the well organised breakfast club run. If you havent participated in one you should give it some serious thought.

The run led us to the event and it was great to see such a large turn out of like minded enthusiasts and their cars. As the NSW club played host to the recent Natmeet there wasnt the usual Concours event or show and shine, they did however hold a slightly less formal event and Toad was lucky enough to have won a prize!

Speaking of prizes, after months and months and months and months (see where this is going?) of searching i stumbled across the even rarer than hens teeth Original factory CD player!!!! :mrgreen:

everytime i did find one on Yahoo Japan the bidding would go nuts, even for units that didnt work! After reading up more on the CD player the article i was reading listed not just its Panasonic model number but the model number from the manufacturer, Matushita. I googled the Matsushita model number and low and behold a YJ listing popped up! The item was listed with a Buy it Now so i just snapped it up for a fantastic price of 50 bucks, in mint condition and working.

May i present the rare Factory Option Add-on CD player!

Next up... something ive been waiting months for. A genuine M2 1028 boot lid
Acquired in Japan but with Christmas holidays looming it just took forever to arrive. Once i got my hands on it i had to have it painted and finally had it fitted last week!

This boot lid is so light the guys at the panel beaters thought it was FRP!

While i had the bootlid painted Yem11n had his recently acquired hardtop colour matched to his SE. The panel beaters did a fantastic job.

My 3rd and final post.. back to maintenance so not as exciting as my last post.

Slow rattly power windows.

Bought the Teflon window guide kit from Jake on Miata.net. The manky guide is on the left.
The kit came with everything needed to complete the refurb. The window action is much smoother and the drivers side is definitely going up and down faster.

Very interested in seeing a video of putting your windows up/down with the kit installed for comparison as I am interested in possibly ordering this kit.

Also, how hard/easy was the installation? Did it take up much time?

I only ask as when I had to fix the cables on my window, it was a bugger of a job that took a while.

Next phase of the restoration, the seats.

To help with this look what arrived in the post the other day

Crappy iPhone pick aside i managed to get myself a set of brand new genuine seat covers and a passenger seat base and drivers seat back!
When added to the drivers seat base i purchased earlier in my garage thread ill soon have, with the exception of the passenger seat back a new set of factory seats!
The price? Exxy. but considering i was toying with the idea of getting a set of used Recaro RS limited seats and having them restored this is a fraction of the cost and helps me stay true to my goal.

Next challenge, not getting carried away when i goto Karuizawa this month to check out Japans largest annual Roadster meeting
