Mx5parts Exhaust
Hi guys
Any one has experience with mx5parts exhaust http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/stainless-ste ... -1114.html,
it is currently on sale, and just under $400 delivered which I think it is cheap for a stainless cat-back system.
It looks as same as the one sale on mania http://www.mx5mania.com.au/product1241.htm
I also consider the cobalt on Moss uk, similar price about $420 delivered but currently out of stock.
Any local comments?
Cheers
OJ

I'm not to sure if you have read the user experiences on the product page, but you do get some reasonably good feedback there http://www.mx5parts.co.uk/stainless-steel-exhaust-mazda-pr-1114.html

I did read their comments, especially the bad comments. But I still want to hear more our local users voice.
Then I can move to next step.

I also noticed there are a few videos of the same exhaust on youtube if you want an indicator of sound. http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=mx5+parts+exhaust&oq=mx5+par&gs_l=youtube.3.0.0l2j0i5.211.4187.0.5177.11.8.3.0.0.0.332.1490.1j5j1j1.8.0...0.0...1ac.1.6bv8v3E04_I

Re: Mx5parts Exhaust
I have a cobalt on my na6 turbo. Sounds stock, I got it used but it was almost new, the resonator baffles seem to be loose so it vibrates sometimes at idle which can get annoying. It also tucks right up into the body so all you see is the tip.

Re: Mx5parts Exhaust
I'm also curious about this. I am about to order some parts from them and could include this exhaust. A bit worried about the negative comments on it being loud, and do notice it has no resonator on the mid-pipe.
The Mania one looks to have a resonator so probably quieter.

Re: Mx5parts Exhaust
I think some comments said loud is because they installed with the de-cat, however near 90% are good comments.
I may ask them if they can do a discount on shipment if we buy two.
Because I tried add two exhaust in my order, but the shipping cost jump from $108 for one to $300+ for two.

Yeah the shipping calculator isn't very clever so I was going to email Mark regarding a combined shipping cost with my other stuff.
Though... Am thinking... Group Buy?
Needs to be before 8 March though.

Re: Mx5parts Exhaust
I bought a cobalt exhaust from Moss motors as a xmas special and replaced my relocated spare version (see pics on for sale ad). They look almost too good to mount! The tip is quite large and a bit hoonish but you get used to it. It has a slight drone around 3 grand compared to my old system which with two hot dogs had none at all. it is quieter at idle than my old system but under full throttle is just as loud as the supercat. It only just clears everything and in fact I put some rubber tubing at the back end as it hits the chassis on some corners. I've had no problems with rattling noises as some of the earlier ones have. I would recommend it at this stage if you get a good price(moss uk was cheaper than US postage..

Re: Mx5parts Exhaust
coreys has a mx5parts exhaust and he loves it. it's loud but only because he's got extractors as well. It's not stupidly loud though.

Any new developments on this topic? mx5lover?
Keen on any opinions as I am interested in this catback exhaust as well. Cheers.

I didn't order it. I am leaning to a custom mild steel one instead. Thinking of going to Castle Hill Exhaust here in Sydney.

I should update last week, but too busy doing my capstone project in Uni, I am still struggle on my work...
I have ordered it on 7th, and got to my door on 12th( I think which is fast )
Then I put it on last Friday, it was so hard to get the old one off, the bolt are rusted,
but the fitment for the new one is easy enough.
The sound is amazing, this is the right exhaust I want. Not too loud, even my mum
can accept it. quiet at idle, under 3000RPM, sound similar to stock.
However if you push hard, it sings.
I'll update later when I put more K's on this exhaust, I think the sound may change.
Pm'ed me if you want to have a ride and check the sound.

I heard good thing about Castle Hill exhaust, I planed to let them make one for me last year, but no $$$ at that time.
I think the cost of a custom mild steel is similar to the mx5parts one.
