MX5 BreakFast Club - Orchard Run- 17 March 2013
Meet: McDonalds Eastern Creek F4 Westbound
Time: 7.00am for 7.30am start
DETAILS: Polish up your car and driving skills to join us on the first MX5 BreakFast Club Waypoint Run along the western edge of the Cumberland Plain to climb up to the Southern Highlands heading for the Robertson Pie Shop before proceeding to brekkie at the Werai TeaHouse in Sutton Forest. As a waypoint run you are solely responsible on how, when and even where you drive with no convoy rules to inhibit your driving style or push you above your comfort level.
As a waypoint run you are not required or expected to drive in convoy only at the pace you wish to drive. You are expected to be courteous to all road users and if you disobey the road rules then it is on your head. This style of run has long been advocated by Okibi and our friends from the MX-5 Club of WA whose advice and assistance has been invaluable. This is your chance to enjoy this type of event organised by the MX-5 Club of NSW.
After brekkie we will head over to Tennessee Orchard at Yerrinbool, you know the place with the big red apple on a stick off to the side of the Hume Highway before Mittagong. The Sydney Club Run and RPM chapter plan to meet us at the orchard at around noon. After a look at what the orchard has to offer you have the option of joining the others for a picnic (byo lunch) or to drive home on the route of your choice.
For further details including the Waypoint Run Information Sheet, Google Map with Directions, etc., go to post for this event for 'More info' on the Club’s Event Calendar at http://www.mx5.com.au/nsw/events.htm .
RSVP: You are asked to email the Organiser and/ or post your intention of joining the run by placing your name on the list that is posted on the thread on the Forum for this event.
Organiser: Timothy Heppell (barge) Mob; 0403 079 018 Email: itsbarge@gmail.com
Michael Soulos (Midori) Mob: 0413 11 33 99 Email captain@mx5.com.au
PS. For late risers there are two convoy runs to Yerrinbool and lunch. The Sydney Club Run is from McDonalds Heathcote at 10.00am meeting up at Picton with the RPM Run who leave from the Springwood Sports Club at 9.30am.

Convoy runs are a thing of the past for the BreakFast Club and the RPM Chapter proposes testing the waypoint system on their route on the Orchard Run on 17 March as well
All the people who complain about how fast they drive down the line in convoy runs are now solely responsible on a waypoint run for how they drive and conduct themselves on the road and cannot blame or complain but only look in the mirror and go for it
Waypoint events cater to a widest range of driving skills and expectations, are more enjoyable, easier to organise and safer events for all concerned. Waypoint Runs have been sanctioned by the MX-5 Clubs of WA, Queensland and now NSW.
We all bought MX-5s to have fun and be safe relying on common sense in the company of like minded enthusiasts with the MX-5 Club of NSW now giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy an event within thier comfort zone and at a pace of their choosing.
