Thanks very much Sean! It's good to know people are still following along despite how long it's taken to get this car done (will it ever really be done?)

I had an issue on sunday, I stripped out 4 of the sump threads on the bottom on the engine and broke a bolt off in another :(
As a result I've drilled and tapped every bolt for the sump out to M8 and they are now much stronger. I also have some 12.9 grade socket head bolts to attach it :)

Tomorrow I've set aside the whole day just to finish the sump so stay tuned for an update tomorrow afternoon.

OK I've finished the sump apart from a little bit of welding. I'll do that tomorrow and get the engine ready for installation in the car on Thursday. That leaves me the weekend to modify the exhaust for more ground clearance.
All that's left after that is to install the new mirrors and it's all ready for rego :)

At TAFE I took the boot mount washer bottle that I made a while ago for fully welding. It's now completely watertight and just needs 1 more bracket put on the top and it's done.

Cheers mate, stock power is around 123kw and the only real power mods I'll have is a free flowing exhaust, aftermarket ECU and running E85. I'm hoping to get around 135kw which should be more than enough for me :) The Silvia has around 140kw I think, so 135 in the MX should have a better power to weight with no turbo lag :)

Oh wow, thats an awesome N/A power figure for a miata. I'm aiming to get close to those numbers with the NA8 BP engine but i'm pretty sure I wont get close lol.

Why not go north of that figure and aim for 160 rwkw.

Hahaha, thanks :) What are you doing to the BP to get that much power?

I don't *really* have any goals as far as power is concerned, it will make however much power it makes. At the moment I just want a running V6 MX-5, lol. If I feel it needs more power I'll mock up a supercharger setup on another engine to drop in at a later date.
While I'm a huge fan of N/A tuning, supercharging just makes a whole lot more sense to me when chasing more power (especially since I already have the charger)

It'll be pretty much a high powered N/A build running on E85. No stroker kit though, since the cost of it doesn't outweigh the benefit and I'll be going for some mild cams since I still want it to be streetable.

I'm not necessarily aiming for a power figure, moreso power to weight like yourself. If more power cannot be obtained without keeping it streetable, I'll just remove some more weight from the car.

I finished the sump today. NO LEAKS FIRST GO! That never happens so I'm pretty happy with it. I also added the threaded boss for the sump plug and the dip stick mount :)

Tomorrow I've got a few mates coming round to help put the engine in. If it wasn't for having a leaky injector I could probably start it tomorrow.
Speaking of which, does anyone know where in sydney to get injectors cleaned cheaply? Or does anyone have an ultrasonic cleaner I could borrow?

Nice work, your welds are getting much more consistent.

For injectors go see Mick at wenty spares and performance in wentworthville, tell him I referred you he will look after you and tell him what its for he has a turbo mx himself.
