Couple of my mates will be there this time as well, young Matt in his WRX and Reece will be co driving in my car. They are really looking forward to it. :D I'm hoping there is enough room for them.

Hopefully I don't run out of talent again.

Help please!
I've searched and searched, but I can't seem to find a list of vehicle/driver requirements. I'm a first track virgin, so I don't want to get there and then find out that I can't go on the track.

Cheers
Andrew

I found this:-http://qldraceways.com.au/files/00-52D-2%20Vehicle_and_Apparel_%20Requirements_1.pdf

I gather this applies to the day in question?

Andrew,

You will need to gget a CTP extension for the track day, just ask your CTP provider for one, and the event will be MX5 track day at Lakeside with a date of 18th March.

For yourself, neck to wrist to ankle clothing, preferably wool or cotton, no synthetics, good shoes and most importantly your helmet. Full face would be preferable.

For your car, just check fluids, an oil change maybe advisable, and if you haven't done it in a while, flush your brake fluid, and if the pads are down abit, replace them.

Depending on what tyres you have will depend on what you need to do. If they are worn and it is dry, all the better, just set your ppressures for the first run at around 28-30 cold, as you are a newbie you will be doing some sighting laps, when you come in adjust pressures to about 36psi hot, if road tyres, and adjust after each run.

For the admin side, get your forms from the Qld website and fill in before you get to the track makes registration quicker. If you need a licence, you can buy oneon the day, either a one day licence, or better value a 12 month licence for $55. You will also need a timing transponder, $20 to hire for the day or $80 to buy one. And don't foget your copy of the CTP extension for motorsport if the car is Qld regoed.

Then turn up on the day nice and early, just before 8, sign in register, quick check of car, go to drivers briefing and then have fun for the day.

On the ttrack, you will be given a session to show you the basic lines so you knoow where to be on the track and then ease yourself into the day, jsut get used to the track and the car on the track and the speed will come to you over the day, worst thing you can do is to overdrive the car.

In summary yoou will have a ball.

If you want any help, just ask on here and there will be plenty who can help, if you are near Ashgrove, I would be more than happy to run you through the car prep for the day, and I also have some wheels and tyres that would be pperfect for the track day, worn to just above the tread wear markers, so will be at their quickest for a road tyre.

3 WEEKS TO GO :!: :!:

Just 21 days and we are back at Lakeside for a FULL day at 'half day' entry fee!

Please do NOT ask me for a forecast!! Just on 400mm of rain here in the last 10 days and almost 700mm since 25 January! I was at Lakeside yesterday and NO rain, yet on the way and only a couple of km's from there it was torrential rain and I found the NB swimming in about 150mm of water! Just an isolated Queensland shower!!

Remember, if you are running, please send Mark our Competition Secretary an email to let him know at:

compsecmx5@miata.net.au

If this is your first time, and I think there will be a few, just mention you are a 'first timer', but please don't expect a reply

Thanks

Great!! Could you flick Mark an email to: compsecmx5@miata.net.au

Just give him your name, from this he can place you in a group! Any lap times would assist but then that can be sorted on the actual day

One thing is you will LOVE the surface when compared to back then, NO bumps etc, beautiful!! Of course the concrete and armco are still there!!

Give a yell here if any questions etc and someone will get back to you I'm sure within 24 hours

See you there!!
