Air temperature in the shade was mid 30's. It was a HOT day!!!!

Dave,
Just send your engine to Wozzah1975. He can arrange transport fairly cheaply.
Don't get stressed about individual engine parts/cams/rods/pistons ect. It will drive you nuts. Let him build you a motor that is bulletproof and will handle 250rwkw. He will use only the good stuff internally and you don't need to know all the details regarding cranks/balancing/bore size/oil pump shims/Arp main bolts ect ect. That will drive you even more nuts.
Accept it will cost you at least 6K and unless you are about to rebuild it yourself, there is no way around this.
Get it put back in with a Exedy Sports Tuff or 949 clutch.
Then the fun begins to get it tuned right. I cant help you with that, but at least you have a engine that can handle the punishment you will give it.
Daniel Deckers did mine and I couldn't be happier and he can do yours as well, but Warren is much closer and he has a wealth expertise in these motors.
Excellent work though to last 120,000km before detonation.
My 2 cents for what its worth.

x2, Richard. I gave him the first list of bits and machining to let him think about it for a few days then I was going to tell him exactly what you said. Unless Dave's an experienced engine builder then Wozzah's the man.

+1 for warren. When did my head upgrade I dealt with quite a few suppliers. Warren, Bill at Miata roadster and SQ engineering were the stand outs.

Yup, with hindsight, getting so much out of a standard bottom end for so long was a decent result. Just wish it had exploded further into the weekend than the second bend of the second lap on day 1 of 2.

What have your local prices been like. There have been some problems with the boundary oil pumps. An external regulator seems to be a better way to go.
