Nah, i mean the AMPseal 35 way connectors and pins and the inline usb ports. You can get the 8' loom, but i was interested to see the cost of terminating only want's needed. No biggy as i doubt i'll be doing anything any time soon, but was more curious to see if they were adding this stuff to the sight, or they would expect you to source the plugs yourself - and if the plugs are keyed differently, would be nice to know what plugs are needed.

Have had a quick flick through the user manual and most of it seems pretty good. Might seem expensive for a MS but seems fairly comparable to some of the other brands in terms of inputs and outputs.

Have you had a chance to get it into a car yet?
Cheers,

Still not sure what you mean as the 8" harness comes with 2x AMPseal connectors with the wiring correctly completed with USB and Serial connectors ready to go/plug in. You just need to wire the other end to either a DIYBOB for PNP or wire directly into the sensors and/or splice into existing stock harness.

Yep, I've got it into a MX5 and it works fine. I'm currently starting a track build on a new MX5 I've got so it will be a while before it goes back into one again, but when I do I will be updating my build thread with pics and commentary.

On the price side, what does it compare to and what alternate price would it be?

For example, a lesser spec Adaptronic 440 Universal Select ECU is $1500 RRP and from what I've seen, the MS3 has heaps more features and better software for tuning and configuration.

The MS3 is also a smaller more compact unit too.

I think I might be able to land a MS3Pro with harness and map sensor for $1200 at your door.... does that seem good value?

Re connectors - i mean not using/buying the 8' loom and terminating your own 35 way connectors. It is nothing major, just wondering if diy are going to sell all the bits to do it. If the pins are easily de-pinned then the purchased loom is best option as you can easily remove the unneeded wires with the pins and store them for later use. It would suck to have 30 odd unused wires that you have to do something with if you are running a patch loom.

I would put it in the same league as the Motec m84 - it could be comparable to the m800 in some aspects. To give you an idea - the m84 is about $2k and you still have to unlock some features and it only has 512kb of logging  Some of the software is limited compared to the hundred series - for example, no moveable bins - shouldn't be an issue though as you have plenty of data points. I haven't really compared it to any other brands. I think it is more comparable to the 1280 in the adaptronic range, which again, is $2k. So, I think it is excellent value - still need to play around with the software and do a bit more reading. I would like to get one to play around with, but need new rubber haha.

Bit surprised the pro is smaller then an adaptronic 440 universal.

As for the motec logging, I think you might be surprised how far 512 gets you. Nicks comment was, it would be more than enough unless you want to log le mans...

The MS3 is able to log to any SD card. The MS3Pro just happens to come with 4GB card and with the 200+ outputs it can log, you'll be glad it can.

I'd bet the Motronic is fixed at 512 so I hope that's enough and you remember to pull logs regularly off the device. Same considering how cheap memory is and how common user replaceable memory cards are on almost every other device is.

Also, the MS3 can log small data outputs at almost injection event speed - burst logging. This requires greater storage requirements compared to normal logging at 30ms or so.

Nah, you can upgrade to have more logging with the Motec.

Yeah - seems stupid to charge for space in the megabytes these days
