Re: Emily's NA6 V-Special Roadster
This is the front of my engine now, no ugly water neck!
Hose goes straight from the throttle body to the water pump.
Using the MX5 hook to keep the hose away from the belts.
Also, when doing a 1.6>1.8 mx5 engine swap, you need the 1.8 Alternator because it has a different pulley than 1.6 MX5's, 1.8 are ribbed and 1.6 are V.
For some reason, my 1.8 Astina motor had the 1.6 type V belt pulleys, So this meant I could use my NA6 alternator. However the one I am using is from a KH Ford Laser, due to it having a V belt pulley and a higher Amperage.
So,
Ford Laser KH Alternator
MX5 NA6 waterpump and pulley
Astina Crank Pully
MX5 NA6 Power steering pump
MX5 NA8 A/C compressor, due to the newer gas.
NA6 V belts
I am so pleased that it all fits together hahahahahaha

Re: Emily's NA6 V-Special Roadster
haha thats a good idea, its so rediculous at this point, the larger radiator is actually from an NB and the oil pump is from an NB8C. Might even put in some NB HKS coil overs.
Such a muddled car haha.

Re: Emily's NA6 V-Special Roadster
^Not nearly as funny as the conversation at Autozone my dad had when buying the Escalade hose.
"Oh what car do you have sir"
"It's for my daughter, she is doing an engine conversion!"
"Wow an escalade is a nice car to have, what's wrong with it?"
"She is putting it into a Miata!"
(I'm sure he was very proud to call it by its American name and not mx5)
"...Sir this won't fit no miata" *laughs*
Then I got a text from him saying an I sureee I'm doing the right thing because the guy at autozone said an escalade engine won't fit into an mx5.
Lol

For those following along and thinking what I'm thinking, this is where you can order that hose locally...

The ebay seller is http://www.eagleautoparts.com.au/ and they have stores in QLD/NSW and VIC...

Just make sure you get the Kia housing from Begi, they aren't sold here in aus.

It is available in Australia, mx5 plus use it as part of their kit. Diameter is bigger then a mx5 so uses a land cruiser top hose of something for memory. But that's I'd if you are running their hard line.

Re: Emily's NA6 V-Special Roadster
Well I broke my one from begi, tried to get a replacement at repco/supercheap/auto1. None is their systems had Kia Sephia. I called Kia maintenance, they didn't have any either as the car wasn't sold in aus. So unless the part was on another car that was sold in aus, and you find out the name/year model, it will be hard to get in aus.
Yeah the outlet is bigger than the mx5 hoses.
The escalade hose is a perfect fit, but slightly loose on the radiator inlet.
I have 2 hose clamps, no leaks so far

Did the 2000 Kia Mentor GLX have the BP?
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

IIRC, Kia stopped using the BP after the first generations of Sephias/Mentors.
