Build the car as per the CAMS manual and the 2F rules and you will be fine.

PPSCRAQ run to the CAMS rules, so even if the car was fine for AASA but did not comply with the 2F rules you would be asked to rectify the car so it complied.

Also if you are looking at doing CAMS events, get a CAMS logbook. I never worried about a AASA logbook for my old car and had no problems running at AASA events.

Who knows, AASA run to their own rules, up here it's pretty much run what you brung and various groups buy the slots at the meetings. So to run in Prod sports forget about AASA rules and build the car to CAMS rules.

If you are at the MX5 club presentation I will be there so we can have a good chat about what you are looking at doing and the best way to go about it.

Don't forget you also have to comply with CAMS General Requirements for Cars and Drivers and well as the 2B or 2F sections.

Folding hard top or not?

What do you think of keeping the hard top vs leaving the car open?

Thinking there is at Least 30-40 kg in it.
Has anyone got experience in weight vs aero for these things?

I have removed all of the motors and brackets and am trying to devise a way of puting it back on in one piece.

Found a good thread on this, so think my question is answered.
No hard top for me!
Unless I race PI

Not 100% sure about an NC, but the hardtop on my NA8 weighs 23kgs. Most tracks it's faster with it off. I keep it on all the time and remove it when I feel like it ie I left the original clamps in place.

Hi all,
Well I finally have my first race under the belt and must say was grinning from ear to ear.

Managed to finish all 4 races, and whilst at the back of the pack, had some enjoyable battles.

I have played with the set up a bit and it was easy enough to find a pretty neutral ground.
I was using soft compound hankook z221 that I bought from a friend, and they were good for 5 laps and went a bit mushy in the warm weather.
I will have a set of mediums to try for the next round at lakeside.
Brakes are amazing, very happy, have porterfield Race pads front and back on the original rotors. Just have goodridge lines.
Car is certainly slower in a straight line compared to the race engined Na and NB cars, but has great corner speed, and I think I can pull in some time under brakes also.

Certainly can confirm racing is amazing fun and must thank the pscraq team and all those who showed up at qr that were so welcoming and easy to get along with.
