EGR Pipe to New Headers

EGR Pipe to New Headers
Hello all, New here and looking for some advice!
I fitted some Empire Performance extractors onto my NB..
All went well except for the fitment from the EGR to the Manifold, they are both female counterparts?
I was just wondering if anyone had come across this problem and have a solution for it?
Heres a picture just to kind of explain what I'm dealing with:

Block them off, they are not vital.

I would block them off if I could, I've been struggling to find anything at all that will fit either of the pipes!

Enzed, Pirtek, Ryco, any hydraulic hose place will have blanking plugs or can supply joiner.

Is the issue space or finding the correctly threaded blanking plug/bolt?
Is the EGR pipe flexible enough to give you more room?
can you get to the other end of the EGR pipe easy? (Sorry I am not all that well versed with NB BP engines, surely someone here with first hand experience will contribute). If so, then is that end easier to undo and blank off?
Can you move/bend the EGR pipe?

My pipe is welded closed @ the exhaust.

Not so much an issue space, just finding a correctly threaded bolt.
I'm sure with abit of heat I could get the EGR Pipe alignment more or less.
Heading to my exhaust shop tomorrow so I'll see what they have to say, worst comes to worst I'll get them to weld it shut.

The EGR pipe changed over the years so it looks like you have a manifold designed for another year.
If you follow it across the back of the engine you will very easily see where it joins the inlet side of the engine. It is only held on with a couple of 8 or 10mm bolts and is very easy to access.
Yes it can be removed and you can make up a blanking plate to block off where it went on the inlet side. You WILL get a check engine light on permanently though.
If you want to blank it all off you can buy the bits here: http://www.bellengineering.net/advanced ... 88&x=0&y=0
If you want to keep the EGR then you need to drill a hole in the manifold and weld this on: http://www.bellengineering.net/product_ ... cts_id=413
The EGR pipe can be bent fairl easily but it will crack easily where it joins the flange at the end that joins to the inlet side.

Not always true..
I have blocked off the EGR on my NB8A with a blanking plate on inlet side and I don't get any check engine lights on...

I thought it was only the US versions that got the check engine light. (ie: Aussie versions don't have any check engine light at all)

Intredasting...I could only find information from the US when it came to deleting the EGR pipe so when I had a NitroDann exhaust system built I had him put an EGR fitting on it.
I thought we would have a warning light on an NB8B? Can't say as I look to closely at the dash lights when I start the car to be honest!

NB8B could possibly have one, but I doubt it.
The whole "check engine" light concept seems to be very much a US thing anyway (talking in general, I can't think of any non-us cars with one)
Neither my Aussie or Japanese gauge clusters had a provision for a check engine light from memory (but that's NB8A)

No engine light as of yet.
Welded up the hole in the manifold and going to create a basic blanking plate for the EGR.
Sounds soo much nicer now without a hole in the top of my exhaust..

I kept the unused ERG valve plugged in and had no check engine light.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
