Ill have a couple of SE's done with BIG power in the next few months and that will tell the story.

But like I said Ive seen an RB with 2" make 406rwhp with stock exhaust manifold and internals, an ebay inlet manifold and 3" exhaust.

We sure are going to find out, and unlike most people doing this stuff ill post it up for the community to learn.

Its been around awhile but Simon's SE is making decent power, think most details on his setup are here:

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Under 300 WHP and it isnt using stock piping so I cannot really infer anything from that.

Ill be putting a turbo that strolls along at an easy 300 wheel -kilowatts- on one and trying stock piping. Then we will know for sure.

I guess I'm a bit pedantic but I worked on mine with the pipes removed from the car. I measured the width of the OE cooler then the length of the replacement and took an even amount off both pipes with a drop saw. I also had a new bead rolled to prevent hoses blowing off then filed the cut edges smooth and painted the exposed metal to prevent rust.

MX-5 Plus modified the SE OE intercooler mounting bar to suit the replacement:

I spray painted the new cooler with a light coat of matte black paint so keep it hidden:

Cheers

Tim can you measure up your IC please and a front view of the car showing where the end tanks finish up would also be greatly appreciated.

Hope we can chat soon.
