Coming up damn fast JBT!! I think i 'sold' Alan on the MX5 yesterday after he drove my NB back from Gatton via Esk and Somerset Dam, only drama was the HUGE 'bump' on one of the 40kph right handers just this side of Somerset Village, I think we all hit that back a few months ago on the run that finished at the Dayboro pub!! From Somerset I don't think he got out of 3rd for maybe 7-8km!! Sure is a little different to that Corolla GTi he has!! And we do it all over again in about 4 weeks!!

We saw a few nice picnic areas on the water on the way back that couldbe used on a 'run', best was just past the road thaat comes in from Fernvale on the Esk side, runs down to the water on the upper reaches of Wivenhoe

Just have to get the oil changed now in the NB and get a check over after it's done 3,000km down to Wagga Wagga and back in the past 2 weeks!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR :!:

The funny thing for me is the whole mx5 trip has suddenly gotten WWWWAAAAYYY out of hand. I just picked up two cheap (ish) NA's. I passed the first on to a mate that came to a couple of our track days as support for me (bug got him quick and he put his hand up for it fast...), and subsequently I picked another up shortly after. The desire for the second comes out of a couple of things-
1. my missus don't drive stick, and I think these would have to be the easiest to learn drive in.
2. If she does, then she might join us on a cruise and eventually track? (almost certainly wishful on my part...)
3. The turbo is almost impossible to drive on the road without unwanted attention. (and I can only wish I had the restraint required to keep it all in check and the right side of... well what they think is legal and safe... lol)- thus the NA is actually more enjoyable on the weekends...
4. The thought that I might have a second car to back up the somewhat volatile turbo if something simple goes astray like the last two times makes me feel better about track days.
5. The NA now means I get to invite others to drive at the track days and still drive the turbo all at the same time!- and with Dave in his own it's better still!!!

I'm so in for the 21st it nearly hurts!
Please come and say g'day on the day- I hope to be around a fair bit from here in ...
Rich.

No worries Rich, hope to see you going round and round!!

Looking forward just as much!!

Funny!! If anyone wants a forecast - fine fine fine!! I just checked my rainfall readings and after 1750mm to mid July, all we have had since then is a mere 120mm, and 80+ of that fell in 2 days in November!! Hard to believe!!

And right now? It's RAINING!!!!!!! Where the hell did THAT come from??

Hi all, hope "Santy" was kind and a good break was had by everyone. I can't believe its only 2 weeks before we kick off again!! "Santy" left me a note with different wheel alignment specs and tyre pressure suggestions for the little red "Pirate Ship". (How is it that he just knows what you want?)
I paid my entry today to take advantage of the early discount, $20, hey it's like getting free lunch on the day!
Cheers, see you at MX5 Plus on the 19th. Then on track on the 21st.

Thanks Alan, not taking my 'lapceiver' to Lakeside, as you are aware, somewhere in the NB is a device called a CALENDER!! Best I use that for timing this year!!

NB in for checkover this Thursday at MX5 Plus, will pay entry fee tomorrow!! That's if I remember to wake up and that I'm back to work after THREE weeks!!

For those interested in a racesuit, Mark has organised for a trip to get measured etc next Saturday - single layer at less than $200, same as worn by Ross in his greeh NB last meet - red, black and not sure what other colours. Location will be Sunshine Coast for meet-up and drive to the location, that's Saturday 12 January next

Please PM me with your email so I can send details or email compsecmx5@miata.net.au

Thanks

I'm in,
Really looking forward to it. Hopefully big numbers again.
Last year was great. Heaps of track time, no big egos. Just a really good day out.

ELEVEN DAYS TO GO

Just had an email from Ross, our Merchandise Officer and up to Wednesday [yesterday] there are 23 entrants that have paid up!!

I know a few that still have to do so, so all is looking GREAT for our first Track Day of 2013

Well done to all!! Keep the numbers rolling in!!

Car serviced and checked today, rear sway bar was loose [damn Newell Highway!!] so now all good and just have to clean the car and get rid of the tar marks
