Seen it. I might upload a clean lap on my phone.

Re: The carbon fibre time attack/superlap MX5 NB twins blog
Did the winton round with the club. The first session I had to bed in the new brakes, so no times. 2nd session I had the triple element rear wing too steep. Too much understeer. Dropped the wing right down for one session. Not enough downforce. Tried the dual element wing. Less downforce again, sending the car backwards off the track. Best was the 3 element wing on middle position. But the day was too hot, as was I. So no fast lap times unfortunately.. Only managed a best of 1:38.3 in the 2nd session with the lots of understeer.
Still beat the restricted open record by about 6 seconds.

I put the red car for sale, but there hasnt been much interest. So i had a thought to maybe send it to brisbane and leave it at a friends place. That way i can fly up every month or 3 and do the tracks up there with it. As well as any events that the car will be eligable for.

Very sexy!
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: The carbon fibre time attack/superlap MX5 NB twins blog
I weighed the complete bare doors. They are just over 2.0kg's. I intend on cutting some metal out of the hinges (about half a kilo for both). No door handles inner or outer saves over a kilo. And removing all the unnecessary metal and mechanisms of the door latches. Saves another kilo. Doesn't sound like much, half a kilo here and half a kilo there, but just by doing those things is the same weight as the doors.

These are not the first. Maybe first shipment. And last for the foreseeable future.
I can get 275 Hoosiers, or 245 avons. Might just get some R6 Hoosiers first. Depends on the time attack rules. I know they are not on the list from last year.

Re: The carbon fibre time attack/superlap MX5 NB twins blog
The 235/50/15 would be good if I want it to look like a 4wd. They would be pretty tall.

According to their facebook page the World Time Attack Challenge rules for 2013 will be out tomorrow. Is this the event you are targeting?

Well I was, hoping the car will be competitive enough to enter.

Sounds like you need to be buying yourself some Yokohamas if you want to play at Time Attack now......

Yeah Ben....without that rule there wasn't going to be a WTAC 2013 event.
Cheers,
