Boyracers Enduro/Rental eBay Special.
Was sick of watching the other guys having a good time doing the 300k. races at Winton and Wakefield so decided it was time to have a go, didn't want to run the green machine cause the engine cost me a fortune and I don't really want to wear it out too quickly so time to build another car.
Was going to be a NB8B with basically stock running gear, loose a bit of weight, will still go OK, flog the life out of it and if something goes wrong no big deal.
Along came this little gem on eBay, didn't really know what condition it was in, had no engine or gearbox but that was fine, can even be registered, the guy was going to fit a SR 20 but it all got too hard, picked it up and it's a ripper.
Then came the plan...I have a full NB8B loom with ABS, SVT engine, 5 speed, 4.1 welded diff, NA8 brakes, Tein Flex all just sitting in the shed, so it's all getting bolted in to the NA6, perfect platform being so light, full roll cage will help sort out the chassis stiffness issues....
So have just over 2 months to get it caged and built ready for the Wakefield 300.
Co-driver is Owen Boak from Victoria, with help from Elements Restorations and Hume Smash Repairs.
I am also planning to make the car available to be rented for any type of event.

Cool project!!
I think it's a great idea to have a 'cheaper' car for the endurance races.
Will be watching this build together ideas!!!

Re: Boyracers Enduro/Rental eBay Special.
Have stripped the car pretty much back to a bare shell, next thing I will be doing is fitting NB front and rear sub frames and suspension and rolling it out for a good pressure wash and scrub.
Then I will be scraping off the insulation stuff and removing any brackets that don't need to be there.
Booked in to Street Neat welding at Gosford for it's full roll cage on the first week in Jan, hope to have all the running gear in less wiring loom(don't want it damaged during welding work) before it goes for cage.

Car is back on the ground, NB8B front and rear sub frames and suspension fitted, using de-powered NB steering rack, also 4.1 locked NB diff and ABS axles and hubs.
Also gave it a good clean in side and out with the Karcher.

You should cut out the seat belt towers and most of the door inners. And the nb8b bits bolt onto the na tank. So I reused the na tank on mine.

Yeah the seat belt towers are going, the old fuel tank was full of all sorts of rust and mud so it had to go, I had a NB tank in the shed.

It is the stock location on a NB, the skirt is a bit different on the NA but it mounts ok.

Re: Boyracers Enduro/Rental eBay Special.
Car is back from Streat Neat, Phil did a really nice job, this is the latest spec CAMS cage, have to fit elec looms, have Maxim works ectractors and exhaust coming off the green car and cold side intake, if i have time the car will be going to MX5 Mania to fit Adaptronic ECU otherwise can just run it on the stock ECU.
