Can someone answer this crazy question?

Postby tescoking » Sun Dec 23, 2012 5:22 am

Hi guys, I have searched the forum about the question I am going to ask, and I couldn't find anything, don't know why is that, maybe is the question too crazy, or it is too stupid.
So, here is the question.
Can the NC air-con/heater control replace the NB one?
Is this question crazy or stupid? :P

Unlikely given the following:
"(Note: 2006 & later (NC) MX-5s are a ground up redesign. There is little, if any, compatibility.)"
See top of page here: http://www.miata.net/garage/compatibility.html

When you say "Control", are you referring to the entire HVAC interface? If so then no it won't fit.

Apart from totally different size HVAC interface, the connections behind it are different. On the NB, they are a combination of electrical and mechanical movement (ie, the slider for the recirculating is mechanical). Whilst in the NC, I believe it's all electronically controlled.
