Not sure how many late model mini-bm's there are around racing.

In the mini challenge, as part of the MRA 27 Nov at Wakefield, out of a field of around 16 mini's only two were the relaunched beemer-mini's.

Not in Australia no.

When we started this year's season, the car I'm racing was the only one here. Now there are 5. :)

Yeah I've still got a Laguna Blue NA8 2f car. Not raced it since 2010, but plan to do dribs & drabs next year. My dad will do some track days in it too.

So Ginetta G 50 not registerable in Australia running Class B prod sports, that would be one of the reasons Prod. Sports is so flocked up.

Read the Enduro manual. It explains it.

With the recent introduction of stability control into ADR's, the guidelines need to be reviewed or many low volume sports cars will no long be able to be registered here.

Just because it was put in the rules doesn't mean I have to agree with it, why would anyone want to race a MX5 in class B when they are up against a Sports Sedan, as I said its cars like the Ginetta and letting in GT3 cars that has totally screwed prod. Sports.

The state rounds in NSW are lucky to get 10 entries, it's just the enduros that are keeping it afloat here in NSW.

I'll just stick with the MRA stuff and the 300K races which are always good value for money and fun, without all the bull$hit.

I'm afraid Qld had little say in the matter. You'll have to voice your concerns to the NSW committee.

The Ginetta is no quicker than the cars already in 2B. We diced with Arthur's Lotus all year. The Nissan is quicker in a straight line and so is the RSCS.

I just had a quick look for supercharged Lotus on carsales.com.au - funnily enough, they all had Toyota engines  Not a single Honda powered one on the market but hey, that's only today

Not to mention, the guys that can afford to buy a professional driver to co-drive with them in their high powered class A cars... Good luck to those who can afford that  I wonder what Tom Kristenson has planned this year and how he'd go in an MX5 class C car...

What happens when people come along and want to run a Radical or an Arial Atom, they both the same sort of thing as the Ginetta.

Or heaven forbid a PRB which is a sports car and can actually be registered and dríven on australian roads....

A PRB is a production sports car.

You obviously haven't had a proper look at a G50 if you think it's the same as a Radical or an Ariel Atom. Out of curiosity, how does it effect your racing that a car has been allowed in that fits into the field anywhere from 10th to 20th on the grid?

It seems that Prod sports will go through the same cycle that App j and many other have gone through, bring in the "professionals, rich boys what ever you want to call em, watchem screw up the class, meaning people the likes of Lou will leave, forcing smaller and smaller fields until the tracks tell em to piss off until you have some decent sized grids.
Then when all is flocked ask the originals to come back and start the whole cycle again.

Where I stand , racing is something I can take or leave, I'm happy to go back to building and managing cars and teams when time allows.
To me, its there to enjoy, as I believe and maybe someone can verify, I think I'm a couple of weeks too old to race F1 etc.

I'm a grid filler, there's no shame in that (despite what some may think) nor do I want to run up the front, been there, done that, top shelf sports (state level, 1st tier race teams) are no FUN and that's why I was happy running in Prodsport. May be it is time those who "don"t try hard enough to race/qualify in the top 50%" to piss off to another category and leave Prod Sports to race those who "deserve to be there", all be it, very small fields.
Oh and Lou, apparently there are only a couple of GT3s over 4 years old left!!!
And for those who were at EC at the 1 hour in 2010, these are the drivers who will be coming to Prodsports. My quote on 1 QLD GT car was over $200k, might make it interesting
So maybe I'll race next year at local rounds, maybe the 1 hour at QR, and definitely look at Leyburn sprints and that type of thing.
