Brett's pre mid life crises

Postby narita » Thu Dec 13, 2012 5:40 pm

Its raining as per melbourne weather so i decided why not introduce myself in the most impolite way possible.

firstly lets go through my previous cars.

I was 18 & turbo law's were non exsistent, I was weighing up an s13 or a Prelude.

Autosalon magazine told me i should get this :

Halfway through the ownership of this car i began to read what Charles Kha had to say about "JDM".

needless to say our love affair came to an end in the form of a t-boning, she went to the wreckers for $700.

While driving that prelude and discovering cars without neons and shitty lights i noticed alot of nicely done Eg civics getting around, I managed to put some more money on top of that very generous $700 the wreckers decided to give me and found this in a Used car yard :

Image

It was manual, Blue & 1.3 carby, Not quite the touge monster i had in mind.

But i did as Honda guys do and came up with this:

& one more picture for nostalgia's sake

I owned that car for a while & decided i no longer desired an eg civic.

I brought this SSS:

Image

Quite possibly the ugliest car ever made though its saving graces were the sr20 & the Sr3 recaros.

Then i got reeled back into the Hondas again & found this:

After owning this civic for a while things were starting to get quite serious with the new girlfriend.

I decided "its time i ditch my obsession for cars & buy a daily that i CAN NOT be tempted to modify".

So i found a suzuki wagon r+, It was perfect.
I purchased it from an elderly lady and it drove just swimmingly.

I then discovered Yahoo Auctions & Jesse Streeter...

My girlfriend was not the happiest:

I got tired of driving a deathtrap and lack of power... (1.0 996cc)

Sold the wagon R+ & picked up this:

It was automatic & stock.

I commisioned a shop to perform a manual swap and added a few little bits.

THEN!

My friend Dylan let me drive his NA6.

The following 10 minutes driving his car was a blur of excitement and laughing.

i had no idea a car could feel so fun to drive & i was determined to have one.

a forum member here had his NB for sale & he quite fancied my nissan so we organised some cash & transfer papers and that was that.

I got it home and took out the c spanners and made it a tad bit lower.

At the moment i only have minor plans which will be : a rollbar, a ducktail & enkei apache's.

progress is going to be slow...

Hey man saw you're little kei car promoted by Mark from Saintside heaps!
Welcome to the roadster life!
I had quite a similar journey to owning a mx as well.
S13 > S14 > Prelude (daily) & Track S13 > NA6 :P

I was so close to getting enkei apaches as well! Paid for em all and was made sure that I could order 15x8 +0 in 4x100.
Supplier was sure and took my money. Got a refund 2 weeks later -__-" ..
Happy I passed on them though as I now own some awesome mk2's :P
