We went through a set of slicks at last EC round. Down to the belts.

Thanks!
There has to be something wrong there. Alignment wise or something.

I'm just saying it doesn't sound right to wear a set of slicks down to canvas in one meeting. How many laps did you do? What was the lap time you set?

That was in the mx5 mania turbo car with nick cancian driving.
We have had mx5 mania build an exact replica of his car for next year.

Yeah I know the car. How much power does it have these days? Which meeting did he set that time? That's pretty impressive.

Nick's car is a copy of the Black Mania car... It raced at Winton the weekend after it was finished albeit with a few teething problems...

Re: Whats happening to the MX5 racing??
Haha col,
Want u meant is it ran like SH...T lol. All down to a bunch of faulty plugs :s. Done 6 laps in total. About 20 for the whole weekend. Ran like a bullet for 6 laps then would miss on boost. Packed it away to save the motor .
The time was done at the V8 super car prod sports meeting earlier this year. It runs 180kw as per the rules. Was battling the lotus when the rear hub failed :/.

Re: Whats happening to the MX5 racing??
So boys and girls!!
What do we do to re-launch MX5 racing in NSW?
Seeing it is AASA, do we want to run CAMS style classes, time limit classes (like Wakefield 300) or no classes and no prizes ala FoSC?
Keen to see what the consensus is...

Re: Whats happening to the MX5 racing??
Im happy just being there.
people just need to take the step from sprints to door to door. Its really fun and with the NSW guys its quite respectable racing

Re: Whats happening to the MX5 racing??
Mayby someone out there can make a promo video of different cars and the close racing.
There's a few vids out there but a compilation style might help. I believe that a lot of guys don't make the jump due to the fact there is more chance of panel damage.
Not really worried about a points system, bring what ya got. A timed start could be interesting (handicap) slower groups go first. Similar to the production car races
