Did a service on the car. Change engine oil and filter.
Fuchs fully synthetic and genuine Mazda filter.
Had to re tap the threads for the bolts that hold the inspection plate under the engine.
Previous owners service people had almost completely stripped the bolt threads holding it on.
Also changed out the diff oil.
Installed the new seat belt guides too.
Must order some new spark plugs.

Sanded the black of the face of my rims. Then didn't like it so painted black again.

And because yesterday was sooo much fun, today I went for another 'spirited' thrash..
This afternoon I was visited by the 'dent fairy'

Nice..I like it.

Bought a can of Meguiar "Gold Class" Carnauba wax polish for the MX and apply it this afternoon. I was horrified to find inconsistent colour density patches on the paintwork after buffing it off  . It looks like someone has smear oil onto the paint surface. It is only obvious from close inspection. I have never experienced anything like that before. I've previously used Meguiar yellow wax but SCA do not stock them anymore. Does anyone have similar experience with this product, Meguiar "Gold Class" Carnauba? Or perhaps I've done something wrong.

We recently used a variety of Meguiar products on detailing my mate's car inside and out and for the life of us we could not get an even result with buffer or by hand! It's the first time I've ever used Meguiar products and wasn't impressed considering the reputation.

It looked even worse a few days later :(

So the following week I went to Supercheap & bought some trusty old Turtle products that I've always used on all my cars and after a full day of taking off the Meguiars and re polishing his car with Turtle products it finally looked great.

Not sure what they are putting in the Meguiar's, or whether there is a knack to applying it, but this little black duck's sticking with what he already knows .....

Try using a bottle of ultimate detailer spray with a microfibre cloth. Going over the car with this combo should get rid of the streaks. That's what I use to get rid of the streaks I sometimes get with ultimate liquid wax.

@KevG, I've been using Meguiar products for twenty years and never had any bad experience.

@and1, thanks I'll give it a go.

That's what surprised us when we used it. I know a lot of people who swear by it but we just couldn't get a good result. But like I said there may be a knack and what @and1 said may be the trick.

I do have some friends reckon Meguiar have changed the products slightly and they have also mentioned having to change the way they apply it.

All too hard for me  Just a simple wipe on, wipe off for me thanks  ......

Full detail, the first for this one (and I think the first machine polish ever for this car)

Happy camper, as the paint was pretty good to start with, just needed a little TLC. Yes, Meguiars products were used on this - Megs Ultimate cut alongside Poorboys SSR 2.5, and Megs Crystal Carnauba Wax, followed up with Zaino Z2.

Need to get some day shots now!
