I can also tell you I've been testing a beta ms3pro unit... And it rocks!

That looks real cool! Loving the smaller footprint.

And agree with others, definitely need to get tuners out there interested to get more commercial support. Means local distributor/sales team etc...

Does it use a usb port or something to connect to the computer? or will it be something wired in line with the loom?

Looks pretty tempting.

The harness has a USB connector included, and the final harness will also have serial db9 with power to allow for BT modules to be used.

Ah cool.

So the usb and db9 are terminated then and just come with a set length on the loom? I have been trying to find the connectors that they're using - haven't found the specific model, but they look to be pin and socket type like deutsch. Are they easy to de-pin?

Yes. The test harness I have has the DB9 as a 3.5mm line like the Innovate serials, but this wasn't powered on pin9 (obviously given it only has 3 wires) and had no easy way of powering a DB9-Serial-BT adapter. I think the final harness will be DB9 with 5V on pin9 to support those adapters and make it more plug-n-play.

35-way AMPSEAL connector - fairly norm in the auto industry. I think the idea is that you buying the ms3pro with a harness that either has universal wire-in for direct splice in connection, or a DIYBOB kit and bits to make a plug-play ECU specific connector. I haven't tried to remove/add any wiring so don't know how hard it would be to de-pin etc.

I've ordered a DIYBOB now that my testing is finished as I'd like to mount a few other things inside a more plug-n-play case - it just looks neat and gives me the option of disconnecting and installing one of my MS2 kits if I want to test. Also, the MS3Pro doesn't come with a MAP sensor or needed stuff for the NA6's odd arrangement for managing the Fuel Pump relay, and so these are things I'll be putting in the DIYBOB so that it is protected, mounted firmly and wired down neatly - this will give me a platform to have things related to the specific car outside the ECU and in the DIYBOB (and part of the car's customisation) and the ECU itself is generic and not containing any addition custom circuits.

In saying that, I'm confident I will be running the Track Beeotch on this ECU most of the time!!

Cool.

I figured it is easier to make a patch loom using the diybob for it then the hard wire it into the car (unless you're pham). For the haltech i just have a patch loom to the socket for the 5's harness - not the neatest solution. If you're able to easily de-pin, it would be very neat as you could remove unwanted wires from the loom, and re-pin them if ever needed. You wont need half the stuff if you were to run a stock mx5 of it.

Can you easily set up warning lights etc with the current software? What about logic stuff like, if ET < 60*C, shift light = 2500 RPM?

All, the MS3Pro is now released!

http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/ms3pro-c-82.html

I should be able to get it shipped to your door for free if interested!

And for those that need a plug-n-play harness, that won't be much more either!

Any idea when they're(diyautotune)/if they're releasing connector kits so you are able to build your own looms/patch looms? The users manual implies they'll have everything available for purchase on the site include the in usb stuff, doesn't appear to be there yet though.

The DIY BOB kits already exist, so most of what you need is there... Is that what you mean?
