Good to know. Sorry for the no reply. However my issue at the time was related to the airbag light, not seat belt light/buzzer. I had to cut the connector off. I gave it enough length so I could crimp both sides so I can replace if need be. Then I could fit the airbag delete resistor that came with the Works Bell hub.

In other news, with the heavier rain in Perth these days I'm finding water streaming through the seals around the A pillar and a small dribble running down the corner of the window. Thoughts on what it could be? I'm assuming clogged channel and with higher flows it can't cope and spills out.

Never do what it says on your steering wheel boss. I recommend staying about 13. I have for the last 44 years.

What did you "fiddle" with to get the airbag light to go out?

For what it's worth so late in the day, I found the connector under the driver's seat for the seatbelt warning system was loose. Tightened it. No more seatbelt warning light.

Long time since last post..

The MazdaSpeed cage went a while back. Replaced by a MX5 Plus Tall Boy single hoop single diagonal rollbar.

Neatened the wiring to the amp behind the passenger seat..

Then the other night after completing uni exams, went to take some photos with my new camera.

What are your thoughts on the car with and without the cage now that you have a rollbar and FM frame rails?

Was there a noticeable difference and is it more "liveable" now? (I'm assuming getting in and out with the cage was a bit harder).
Don't worry about dying, worry about not living!

Definitely more liveable now.. The MX5 Plus Tall Boy isn't as tall as the MazdaSpeed, but that's due to where each one is mounted.

Also because of the diagonal (MazdaSpeed didn't have one) my passenger recline is rather limited. Doesn't affect me too much as I have a Sparco Sprint V in the driver's side, but may bug some..

But the biggest positive is that I am much less worried when I pulled up next to a cop car. The cage seemed to attract too much attention in the end for my liking. I ended up driving with my top up more to avoid the attention. Now I don't have to worry as much

I can't really make a fair comparison between setups as I went from 16's down to 15's which have made a big difference (not to mention the tyres that are on them)

Yes you will be seeing my car there more often. I work at the newsagency and my MX5 has become my daily

Hey Andy, how'd you go with the rollbar install? Took a few hours but managed to squeeze mine in.
Would be great to catch up when my rims arrive, hopefully see you on a cruise in the future.

Yeah bit of a pain in the bum to do solo. Luckily my car previously had a MX5 Plus twin hoop roll bar so holes pretty much lined up. What cruises have you been to recently?

No SE headlights. Is there something that makes them look aftermarket?

They have like a dark or smoked look to them. My NB8B just look silver with clear lenses.

Just the local JDMWA ones, you've attended one in the past right?

Well the next one will most probably be around January, I'll shoot you a pm when I know of the date and see if you want to tag along, the weather will be perfect for our cars and there's always a lack of MX5's 8)

Not too much has happened.

Starting to seriously look into an ECU to max out all the bolt ons I have.. Of course being a poor uni student doesn't really help

This will occur in the near future hopefully.

I also replaced my radiator with a ASI eBay spec 40mm alum one. The factory one was browning and in sunlight you could see micro cracks in the end tanks. Ended up using Royal Purple Purple Ice and some distilled water as my 'coolant'.

Btw a little bit of fiddling and swearing was required to make it fit in. Things don't quite line up, off just enough to make things tough but not impossible..

While I was at it I made a new air guide to replace the factory piece. I made it out of coreflute and cable ties 8) and it fits alot more snuggly against the IC, AC condenser and radiator. Made very roughly but does a great job and it seems that my AC gets frosty that much quicker!

After all this the car need a decent detail..
-Presoak with my newly acquired foam lance attached to my newly acquired gerni
-Quick clay bar with some fine grade clay
-Megs Ultimate Compound on a Lake Country green pad
-Autoglym SRP on Lake Country green pad
-Megs Ultimate liquid wax

Paint is not quite where I want it but I was cut short for time so it will do for now.

Took some pics of how it now looks:
