NC fault codes

Postby Regie » Tue Dec 04, 2012 10:51 am

After the track day on the weekend, my car is sometimes throwing up a code and failing to start. The code is:

U0101 - Communication error to TCM

Does anyone know where the traction control module is on the nc?? First call wold be to check the connection on the plug

Cheers

Assuming it's the same for LHD and RHD, left side of dash - see page 25. http://www.mellens.net/mazda/Mazda-Miata-2008-2009/electrical_component_locations.pdf

Looks like its sorted now.

Posted up on the big forum also, they linked me to a Mazda service bulletin. Apparently having anything plugged into the obd port can shoot up random codes....so the scan gauge is now unplugged and no codes have been thrown up :D

Just saw this thread I was going to ask if anything was plugged into the OBD port

Mine had lights flashing all over the dash when the Scangauge got hot sitting in the sun when I mounted it above my rear view mirror.

It has also scared the panel shop a few times when I've taken it there and then the CEL starts appearing.
We can only put it down to the Scangauge not being able to handle the heat from the car sitting in the paint booth.
