Trip 10 : 23-09-12
Organised by the Gold Coast Chapter : Mooball Madness

The run follows the Tweed Coast Road (Tourist Road 38) through the seaside towns of Kingscliff, Salt, Casuarina, Hastings Point, Pottsville, then to Mooball and beyond.

Hastings Point lookout was our first stop for afternoon tea and a spot of Whale watching. From there we followed several roads between Condong and the coast, before ending up at the Chindera Tavern for a well earned dinner stop.

Here are a few pictures taken during the run.

Meeting place at Tweed Head Red Rooster. The number of NC outnumbered both the NA and NBs.

First Stop - Hasting Point Lookout.

The tall and slim male in the beard standing next to his red NA (1 owner) is one of the founding members of the QLD MX5 club, with membership number 3. Considering mine is four digits.

Do you see the Whale splashing about in the surf near the headlands? Too bad if you didn't, I certainly did.

Stopping at Moo Moo Cafe for group photo.

Waiting for the 2nd and third convoys to arrive.

After a few photo shots, we decided to continue on as a single convoy of about 13 cars. As with previous such large followings, many got lost at unexpected road works and missed the crucial u-turns and turn offs etc.

Waiting for the rest of the group to catch up.

Finally at the tavern. Good food, very reasonably price with excellent counter service.

This trip is organised by the Gold Coast Chapter. A nice drive around the Gold Coast hinterland and a rail ride on a private property "Glenfinnan". This is one of the benefits of joining QLD MX5 club.

Here are a few selected photos.

Meeting at Mudgeeraba.

Final run for the year.

Christmas Lunch with Darling Downs Chapter at The Bull and Barley Inn at Cambooya, some 25km south of Toowoomba.

The Bull & Barley Inn is located in the heart of Cambooya, a quaint country town nestled on the city outskirts south of Toowoomba, just off the New England Highway. Cambooya was home to the famous author “Steele Rudd” (real name Arthur Hoey Davis). Rudd’s literacy works featured the great Australian characters, Dad ‘n’ Dave.

Do visit if you're near that area. Great service, excellent food and air conditioned seating area. http://www.bullandbarleyinn.com.au/

Here are a few selected photos taken during the club run.

Meeting at the Information Centre on James Street in Toowoomba.

Some crazy characters.
