So much for the excitement of the MS2 - I am having a heap of troubles with it. I cannot get the CAS signal to be read correctly. It is coming into the ECU correctly, I can see it in the ignition logger, but not being scene as RPM when cranking, the rpm goes to 1. I have tried different firmware version etc and nothing is working. I am in touch with diy auto tune - the +ve is that they are being very very helpful.
Today, I have gone back to the MS1 so that I can validate that I have not fried anything on the main board - car started first time so that is a positive.
To prepare for the next dyno visit, I have fitted a bigger radiator and I have an 13 row mocal oil cooler ready to be fitted. These are things I wanted anyway and I figured they should save me time at the dyno.
Where next with the ECU???

Hopefully the guys at diyautotune have figured it out, I will prove this at the weekend when I have time.
So basically if you are upgrading you MSPNP1 to MS2 there are 2 things to do (so far) are .....
1 - reverse your coil triggers, swap the plug leads around if you are stock coils or swap the trigger feed to the COPS.
2 - Add or change the 2nd crank angle trigger jumper wire to go to J10 on the MS2 daughter board. MSPNP1 is wired to have the 2nd crank signal to go to J8.

So the MS1 to MS2 upgrade has moved into the 'too hard' basket. I rewired the PCB for the MS2 processor, but still no CAS signal. Eventually found someone doing a similar upgrade, who had to make a whole new circuit for the 2nd CAS signal. For me and the amount of time I have right now (1 year old running around everywhere ) I decided that it was just too hard.
The answer - buy a MSPNP 2
The MS1 is back to its original wiring, tested and working, the MS2 is installed, car started first try on the MS2 and tuning the lower rpm end of the tables has begun/done.
While all this has been going on, I have also installed a bigger rad and a 13 row mocal oil cooler. Will get some picks soon.

not mounted the oil cooler yet, but it is going to bolt to the front cross member, so it is basically in the hole in the bumper, if that makes sense. I am probably going to cut some holes in the top of the bumper to get more air to the rad.
Had issues with the sandwich plate, I ended up having hoses comeing out of the top, it would not fit with the hose outlets facing down, might be a symptom of the NA6 engine or the engine mounts and stuff I am running. I personally cannot see how it would fit with the hoses facing down regardless on the NA6.

Correct !!!
I am pretty sure that it dropped a valve seat at 7500rpm and took the valve with it.
Taken the head off today and here are the results below.
The block and head are dead, lucky I have another engine for a rebuild. Also since I am running ITB the other cylinders did not get metal dragged into them. I think I will get away with different block and head, one new piston and 4 valves. The head has been smashed through to the water jacket, the cylinder was full of water.
I thought I have a video of it, but the camera was in photo mode
Not good, but stuff happens.
