Got home from driving it 7000kms up to Noosa along the east coast and back to Adelaide through the riverland. It's been a good 3 weeks with some great roads and a handful of battle scar stone chips. Worth it.

Pulled out the oem head unit and fitted a new one with a coin tray beneath it.

Re: What have you done today/recently to your 5?
Fitted new Kumho ku31 tyres all round. It was too bad that there was lots of rain today, as I didn't get a chance to properly test the handling improvement
I noticed however that the new tyres were much more comfortable and soaked up bumps a lot better.
I also initially had some reservations about getting the tyre store to do the wheel alignment, since the guy first thought the castor wasn't adjustable
They got fairly close to the specs I gave them, so can't complain too much given the price paid.
Next on the list is sorting out the suspension; I think the mod bug has hit me!

Yesterday night found the temp gauge to be super high, almost 3/4 H. Today bought 2x 2L demineralised water from Coles. Started pouring...... 1 bottle gone! 2nd bottle was almost empty until the radiator was full. Can't believe the radiator was so empty.
Need to do a rad flush soon

Re: What have you done today/recently to your 5?
Interesting few days with a few face-palm moments:
1) Found out air con compressor was leaking - got that fixed. New compressor in!
2) Car came back and I noticed it was running v hot. After some investigation, the radiator cooling fan wasn't kicking in. Condenser fan was running though.
After checking wiring relays and fuses (they were OK), I decided to check to see if the fan spun. Turns put the plastic bracket that goes around the fans was dislodged and stopped it from spinning! Here I was measuring temperatures, checking wiring etc! Doh haha.
3) I also noticed my turbo wasn't boosting as much. I thought it may have been related to the heat and my intake but turns out they didn't put back the AEM intake properly.
4) OK so power back and then gone. I noticed "farting" noises from the engine. Looks like the standard plastic BOV is dead. Ordered a replacement Turbosmart.
5) Belts weren't squeaking before but now they are after changing out the compressor. Another job for next weekend
