has anyone midified the pedals?

i just installed some bride low max replica fixed back seats and the low max style puts my ass further away but my upper body in the usual spot. the problem is i am only 160cm with shorty legs and while my feet are struggling to reach the pedals for heel/toe action my arms are all bent cos they are close to the wheel. i havent had a proper look under there do you think its possible to extend the pedals out an inch which would be perfect.

There is, if I recall correctly, a pedal adjustment screw/knob/thingy that you can tweak. But I'm not really sure if that's clutch only or the others as well.

I think it's clutch and brake.

BUT, it doesn't change the pedal height, only freeplay. Adjust it too much and it can result in the brakes being held on, or the clutch being held half down (even though both pedals will still be sitting up high on the stops)

So yeah, there are adjusters, but the pedals can't go any higher than they are from the factory (without having to cut/bend/modify things) because when not pressed they rest against rubber stoppers attached to the pedal box frame (you might get another 10mm of height if the stoppers are removed, but that's about it)

The easiest method would probably be to tilt the seat back slightly to give a bit more arm space.
You can put a few washers under the front seat bolts to tilt it back.

yeah ive tilted the seat back as far as possible, the problem with the fixed back are the knees now point upwards. ill buy another set of pedals and get to work i guess. i would rather try to get the seat as far back as possible to get in and our of the car easier. i look ridiculous at the moment.

you just need to learn to get out like me, 1 hand on the steering, elbow on the shoulder bolsters and push yourself out. you're climbing out unnecessarily lol. stop being a little girl =p
if you're worried about bolster wear, just velcro some vinyl on it and remove for car shows.

getting in and out are annoying but the main issue while im driving is my arms are too close and my legs too far.

my legs are still too short even if i bring the steering wheel forward. might try some wood under there and see if that works. lol

I think Dann is saying move the steering wheel back closer to the dash so you can move the seat forward further while keeping the same arm position but that won't help with getting in and out of it.

There is a surprising ammount of travel in the clutch and brake pedals the guy who had the car before me moved the clutch and brake way forward but they were more forward than the accelerator which makes it almost impossible to heel and toe or left foot brake.

I would say the easiest solution to this would be to mount a set of aftermarket pedal covers over the existing ones. As long as they are mounted securely and have a rubber grip on them I can't see why it would be a problem. That should add maybe 20-30mm or so and you could add a shim between them to get even more.

most fixed back seats are fine, the bride low-max style just has the ass area sunken back a tiny bit, im guessing great for tall guys. i actually have it almost perfect now with a a bride cushion, a few minor tweaks to the pedals and putting the rubber back on the pedals :roll:

the extra cm or so in the pedals has made a huge difference.

Or recline the seat back a bit in its mountings (whoever you have it mounted it), it would give you a little extra space. I have a Pro 2000 inclined a little extra then how it would sit on stock rails and a works engineering quick release, NRG short hub and a nardi deep corn and it's perfect.

Rule of thumb for steering wheel position is if you arms are extended straight while relaxed with both shoulders resting against the seat, your wrist should be resting on top of the steering wheel.

As Dann mentioned if you need more arm room, get a slim boss kit NRG make one, its about half the size of the normal one should give you a bit more arm room.
