This morning I went to unlock my car and it wouldn't engage the unlocking mechanism. To cut the story short I clambered in via passenger side but the drivers door would not engage manually either. So after removing armrest, door handle cover and the door cards, went about trying to sort it out. Everything looked tight, but I eventually worked out the brass fastener that attached to tow of the arms had moved just enough so that the central locking mechanism wouldn't fully disengage.
Also observed a nice little gouge on the inside of the door card where the fastener must have been catching.
Has anyone experienced this sort of problem before?
cheers
chris

Re: Bloody Central Locking - NA6
Similar problems with aftrermarket C/L but they don't cause many faults. It seems the brass fastener was badly set up ( if it had been mounted so it did not catch it would still be ok) I'd check all the fittings and all should be good.

You do know it's an aftermarket kit as the NA6 never had central locking as standard.

Re: Bloody Central Locking - NA6
My drivers side C/L doesn't even work
The passenger side locks and unlocks as required, and the immobilizer works like a charm.
I've been meaning to pull everything apart and have a proper look.
From what I understand from a small peek, I've actually lost a part that connects the C/L motor (or mechanism, whatever) to the locking mechanism. The lock itself is super tight, so I need to get some graphite powder in there to loosen it up.
If you find a solution, definitely give us a report!!!
