Hey guys, i have been doing my research but i have been getting mixed answers on whether a 6.5 inch splits speaker system will fit onto an NA8 1994.
I have read that they fit directly into the hole and i have also read that it doesn't fit because it needs a little modicfication like spacers and drilling holes etc.
Please give me a simple answer on whether it will fit directly into the factory holes and if not then please explain to me what to do to get it to fit. I don't want to waste my money and get 6.5 inch splits when i could have gotten 6 inch splits which will guarantee a perfect fit.
Thanks

Re: Door Speaker Fitment
Depends on the speaker.
NA mx5s have 3 holes in their PCD. Some speakers support this arrangement, others have tabs for 4 holes. In that case, you'll need to drill some new holes.

Re: Door Speaker Fitment
I recently fitted new Kenwood splits into my NA8. From memory they were 6.5's, but I'll confirm when I get home tonight.
I had to drill 4 new holes as the speakers didn't align with the existing 3 holes (drill hole circumference too far from the speaker hole). However the Kenwood splits did fit smoothly into the hole with nil clearance issues.
