Data logging for Android

Postby Sailor » Tue Nov 06, 2012 2:22 pm

Just looking at a data logging app for Android.
I've shelled out a massive $4.85 for Torque Pro from Google play.
You will need a bluetooth OBDII dongle to make it all operate but these are pretty cheap, far cheaper than a DasDaq or Dash Dyno.
Looks way easier to use than the clunky Dashdyno interface! (CB)
I'll be playing over the next few weeks and can lend you a dongle to try the app after I have a toy with it.
Plenty of info on the Torque wiki

looks like good value. Would be interested to see if it has a fast update rate and also displayed knock retard sensor

wish I had obII sender.

If you interested down the line, a cheap entry level tablet can be mounted in your car for data logging/engine diagnostics etc.

Yeh it's awesome!
I used it initially when I bought my car to check for any error codes. Now I'm using it to read boost and temperatures.

I've just a bought a replacement back case for my phone and plan on velcro'ing it to the dash :)

Another cool function is data logging. You can email yourself a CSV file full of what you tell it to log.

Next thing I need to do is source an extension cable and hide the adapter somewhere. An off/on switch would be nice.
