Re: V6 supercharged 3.8 into NA MX5
Go for it! There is no down side to unique MX5's.
Why are there so many negative, whingy fools on this forum who need their useless opinion heard?
"I don't like it. Why would you do this. Another MX5 butchered etc etc etc.
MX5's are the highest selling roadsters of all time; there isn't a exactly a short supply of NA MX5's out there. There are however, a shortening number of MX5 enthusiasts and club members. If you want to make douchebag comments whenever someone wants to experiment with their toy and do something on a car on the other side of the country that YOU don't like, then you're only stopping people from wanting to comment and be a part of this community.
I look forward to watching this build thread!

This will certainly be interesting.
What's your intended use of the car once completed? Drag racing? Because I can imagine that to be sweet! Considering that like, VE sv6 thunder ute's and that have 200kw at the fly, and weigh 1700kg, it'll surely be interesting to see how quick a boosted alloytec goes in a roadster.
Good luck dude!

I am using the Ecotec engine, just for a fun car, but I do want to try down the 1/4.
I am waiting for a memcal from Mace engineering. This will allow the ECU to power with out the BCM, then the donor car will be stripped.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Hi Guys, got the memcal back from Mace Engineering.
Now the donor car starts with out the security key.
Time to strip the Comode!

I honesly can't wait for this.. 'f*** the haters' I say.
If we all put the same upgrades on the same car? where's our souls and creativity?
I say lots of pics and lots of updates also.. don't give up.. it seems like a tough project.. don't want you to get half way...
This thing will fly no doubt..

Hi Guys, still around!
I had a rough couple of years with a death in the family [one of my sons], sold my business, etc etc.
Motor is still under raps, MX5 is gathering dust. I hope to restart in a couple of months!

No substitute for cubic inches, well except forced induction but you already have that covered
Can't wait to see this progress and admire the planning, fabrication and engineering involved.
Go Steve!!!
