I weight 94kg.

Pure muscle too, you need it for the clutch and steering !

Id be willing to wager that a driver only roll hoop with the drivers seat on the floor, or better yet, bolsters welded to the floor and a expanda-foam seat on that there would be only a head above the doors. Then add a fibreglass cover for everywhere but the drivers torso, so that air goes straight up the bonnet and over a flat panel instead of hitting the windscreen and with a wing mounted on normal APR raised mounts the drivers head would hardly affect the wing.
Combine that with a full flat floor, splitter and diffuser and Id imagine you would cut CD by 15% odd and frontal area by 25%.

And you would have proper, proper downforce.

I don't consider myself as big, i was lucky to get the small genes in my family. Little brother is 6'6" and about 100-105kg's, and my older brother is 6'8" and about 95-100kg's. Good friend is 6'10" and size 17 shoes :shock: . So at 6'2" not so big relatively. At least i can fit in an mx5 with a helmet on (with no seat rails).

Personally I dont really care for classing at this point, I just want the fastest cheapest car possible.

Which is why the US system works so well.

You take a cars power and weight (verified via weigh bridge and independent dyno).

You then take the power and weight and assign points based on this (200hp/tonne might get 25 where as 300hp/tonne only gets 15 points).

You then list every mod imaginable and assign points to it.

Slicks are 8 points.

Unlimited bolt on aero is 12 points.

Coilovers are 6 points.

swaybars are 2 points etc.

This way you just build a car, and get slotted into a group based on how many points you have left, this way you can find out if the mods you have chosen are competitive, its great for development and allows people to spend 30k on drivetrain to do 1.07 at wakefield or 5k on aero/tyres to achieve the same thing.

Specifically regarding added lightness its sometimes cited at events that someone who has a fully stripped car should be immediately put into a racecar class. Well taking the windows out of their street car is the sacrifice they made, why shouldnt they be rewarded for it? Its a free mod, and thats what makes it excellent, and thats not even questioned in the US its just part of the power/weight equation.

just a minor technical point - we aren't in the US and every cams class I can see doesn't subscribe to the methods as above.

If you aren't a trophy chaser it isn't important just show up to a club day and run the state times you can and be proud you did it for cheap.

i remember those days, club sprints are fun however if you wish to race then you have to build your car to a class and that class has rules. Unless its time attack, but thats not racing.
