When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

Sorry no.
I got a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sports from Tire Rack. Landed and fitted for around $1,050.
Ranks No. 1 in the tyres tested.

What does it then cost to get them fitted, balanced and aligned?

Fitting and balancing is usually 15 to 20 a tire. Alignment is often best done by someone other then a tire store. 80 - 100

They shouldn't charging you $15-20 a tire would mean they would probably make more profit that way then they would on a cheap set of tires anyway.

Cost me $100 to get 4 tyres removed from my NA6 rims & fitted to my NA8 rims back in '04 - was in Canberra, so reasonably captive market.

Re: BRIDGESTONE S001's
I've used them on my civic ages back. It's a quiet tire compared to re001s and better grip in the wet; dry around the same. But I'm no racing driver.
On another note, I thought they stopped making s001s? Would be good to check when they were made.

As 16 bit says they are a new tyre and are a replacement for the 050's, atm the 050 is only available in 205/45 17 in RFT and in time more sizes will disapear from the range.

Re: BRIDGESTONE S001's
Ah. I might have remembered incorrectly then. Might have been re050 or even 040.. Since it was 5 years ago :S
No input then.. My bad.
