Did you have racechrono running? Looks to me like slightly faster entry speed with a slightly unsettled rear (from the ripple strip), and then too late with countersteer. Hope you had your windows up!

refer to my comment a page ago :d

Mitch,
Great driving in that vid mate (prior to brown pants moment!) I have certainly come off there chasing people too. Was this when the GV lip was damaged?

the GTR had some punch in a straight line, Im sure he/she would have been checking the review mirror going WTF an MX5 still behind me?
Love that feeling hehe

your MX5 certainly punches well above its weight mate.
Looking for an SVT motor for this:

Bryan: Racechrono was running, and it actually showed that I was a few kmh slower than my best lap of the day in the previous session. I think you are on the money with the ripple strip; I think it is unsettling the car way too much. WIndows were up :P Didn't stop all the dust and crap coming through the vents though :P

Chris: This is where the GV lip was damaged, yes. I had a similar off there (didnt go off as fast) in the prev session, which cracked it, but was otherwise intact. This off just demolished it though. Yeh, I was imaging what might have been going through his mind :P Thanks though :)

I'm right now uploading a video of some better driving from the day... ;)

In reference to previous comment about GV lip, it's kinda in a few pieces now :P

ALSO!!! Excited!!!! I was just looking at my split times; I was a full 1 second faster in the first sector than my 13.9 lap (from racechrono) from the mx5 club day, but then lost that second on the last sector. SOOO that means that if I can tie together some good sectors, a high 12 is ABSOLUTELY on the cards!!!!

Here is said video

Just to prove that I wasn't on the grass all day :P

I was having issues through the fish hook with getting the power down. I just called Dave at Mania and had a quick word with him, and rekoned that the inside wheel was lifting, and all the power was going to that wheel, because that is what the torsen does. Poo. Might try disconnecting rear swaybar, see if that helps to keep the tyre on the ground. Does that sound like a reasonable solution?

Went under the car the other day to check everything out. I also wanted to drill holes into my cannon brace so I could see the alignment markings.

Took the nuts off and found that the bolt was dug into the alignment disc, which just means bad news for an accurate wheel alignment, so I replaced them all with the two-groove alignment bolts as I did on the front. $50 for 4 SECONDHAND bolts from mania!!!!!!!!!!! Must be made of unobtanium or something

Removed broken GV lip. Looks homo now, but makes speed bumps and driveways SOOOOO much easier

Few things wrong with the car now:
-rattle from the rose joints in the rear top hat
-the left rear coilover has about 10mm difference in height adjustment compared to the right, despite having a ride height slightly HIGHER. So I think either something is bent on chassis, or coilover is very worn....
-got an alignment, and there is a lot of freeplay in the front bushes, so I couldn't quite get the same camber on front as before. I think there was about 30-45minutes difference in camber now
-need new lip...

I really doubt that they are, but I didn't have the time to hunt for cheaper ones.

$50 for 4 bolts isn;t much when you think about it.

Especially when you consider that they're for a fairly one-off application (ie: just for the MX5, made with the properly sized and aligned notch etc)

Bit of a bump. Not much has changed at all recently. I have spent the last couple days washing polishing and waxing the car, so I took it out for some pics this afternoon.
