NC Sun Visor Replacements?

Postby magenb » Mon Sep 24, 2012 3:42 pm

So the standard visors are useless, can't turn side on, they have a big gap when down, etc. So has anyone found a good replacement?

Sunglasses and a peaked cap.

When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

Are all models of NC fitted with non swivelling sun visors? If so I wonder if this is related to meeting the ADR for sunvisors, Presumably if non std sun visors are fitted these would not meet the ADR ?? Best sun protection and shade is full brimmed hat like an Akubra but not to everyone's taste.

Correct.
And I don't beleive so.

The NC sunvisors are simply a plastic moulded shape that hinges at the base, and rests into a cutout in the windscreen header when folded.

The fact that many other new cars still have normal visors tells me that it's not so much a decision based upon ADR rulings or safety, more based upon aesthetics and cost. (it sits flush and very neatly while folded, and the simple plastic moulded design would be much cheaper to produce than the large padded visors normally on cars)

edit:
I can't seem to find any pics of it.

Yes AFAIK. However, they do have mirrors...except the one on my side of the car has a picture of some ugly critter in it. :P

I don't know about the Jap delivered Cars but the USA models have the same crappy sun visor. I would have thought some one would have come up with an aftermarket solution by now.

The NC's sun visors were a big step forward for me from my NA & NB. I left them on.
Being tall I needed to remove them from the previous models so I could get better forward vision.
