I have two sets of KU36 for the MX-5 and two different sizes and batches of KU31 on the other car. All 12 tyres have Made In Korea on them.

It came with 7yr. old B'Stone 205 45 16's from the 75yr old guy who sold it. I had them checked out and because they had been underground and under a cover they passed as ok. A year later the rears are 2/3 down so time to replace them. Was going for KU31 but got talked into the newer KU39 for $35 more each . They seem better for wet grip . When you've had AWD it's hard to go back to sliding in the wet.
...but not sure I did the right thing as I hear there's nothing wrong with the KU31!
BTW Ozzy tyres don't have this size in either.

KU31 would have to one of the best wet tyres on the market. So if the KU39 are much better. Then WOW!!!

Hi all,

I had fitted on saturday a set of KU31 195/50/15/82V to my MX5. first real test out on sunday on club run and totally different car to drive. Not saying bad or good, but after having Goodyear F1 D3s on and getting low i did have a quieter ride but felt so different to the old. It was like driving all over the place and just suppose they need to wear in if thats correct to say. I also felt got a good deal at local Bob Jane centre for under $100 each tyre, but also did buy 2 sets as my daughters Rio uses same size tyre.

Also will be putting later on the for sale area the old D3s and some BJ Zenon 27 suitable for someone that wants track tyres.

"It was like driving all over the place...."
Sounds like you need a good 4 wheel alignment before the new tyres wear in a bad way - that will protect your investment while making the car feel stable.

Not sure about the NA but on the NB8A you need a load index of 82, and these are listed as 81. Just be careful.

Interesting! Just ordered a set for dads 323. Wondering what it needs...

So have all ku31's been under rated? Or do the come in different ratings?
