NC Head Unit Flashing

Postby Guy_Coles » Sun Sep 23, 2012 7:41 pm

Hey Guys,

Over the last 12-18 months I have had my head unit freeze, no volume control/can't change stations with the front panel lights flashing on/off/on/off. Turning the car off and the on again does nothing and on one occasion I left the car for a week and when I returned it was flashing again. Seems to last for 5-10 minutes then magically corrects itself. It's happened 3 times now over that period, and then operates perfectly for months.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar ?

My sister's Mazda 3 had issues with her HU (albeit aftermarket). Pulled it out, unplugged the 12V, constant, ground, then plugged it all back in. It seemed to do the job and has worked fine since..

I would disconnect the battery (or the head unit) to properly reset it.
