BBS wheels Factory approx value??

Postby mazdaz » Sat Sep 22, 2012 2:40 pm

Hey ya, I understand people have differing opinions but a set of these with no tyres in good condition what are they worth approx. What have previous sets gone for..........

BBS wheel set for JDM Limited Edition Mazda MX-5 NA6 factory 14 inch rims, 6 inch wide with correct +45 offset. Have the centre caps and locking wrench. Original gold color.

Thanks knowledgeable ones

Not a lot. I don't think they were gold from the factory (the Aussie ones were silver).

Gold BBS wheels appeared on the JDM 1993 Brilliant Black S Limited which also had a red leather interior.

I agree with Reggie...Just store then and when (if ever) you sell your MX, put them back on. You won't get the value of them 2nd hand. But could add value to your MX (specially if a limited edition) come selling time.

An example is the OEM NB8B 16' wheels. They cost about $600 each to replace from Mazda. But you'd be lucky to get $400 for set (4) 2nd hand. And that's for a clean set with no marks or scratches.

It's hard to value 14" ones but the centre caps are worth about $120+
I paid $1500 for a set of 15" ones a few years ago but 15's are a lot less common (I waited 7 years to get them). The plus of your wheels are they are the lightest non racing magnesium you can put on your car. Even the 15's were lighter than stock hollow spoked 14's.

If you are the seller youi should know, however to spell it out and just in case you're not , when I asked the seller when they would next be in Morayfield the answer was in "in a few weeks" , it's Ebay and an answer like that just doesn't thrill me, I actualy asked twice , same answer, so I pulled out of the bidding.

I received an Email sometime after my previous post on here informing me 5 to 6 weeks but, to late, I was gone for the day and I seldom bother with the web at night.

Shame realy my budget on these was $400,00 max.

And before anyone asks about courier crap , the seller offered delivery to a place where I could pick up from , thats what made the deal worthwhile to me, adding a courier would put it in the too much bucks and bother bag.

Mind you $280 ?? perhaps not.

Nah, got a quote from the E-go website yesterday & set alarm on phone, but didn't bother bidding in the end.
