The only thing about using heat shrink is that If you ever have to remove it, it can be an absolute prick with out damaging what's under neath.

Update time! Head isn't finished yet so I've been doing a few odd jobs here and there.
One thing I did was start on the brake prop valve relocation. It's not necessary but does give me extra space for the velocity stacks, might be able to increase it's length later down the track too. So I picked up some angle aluminium plate for $5 and started cutting that up.
Cost me $5, pretty awesome deal I thought.
Measure twice, cut once. Came out exactly how I wanted, the prop valve will than be mounted just above the brake booster. I'll get someone to make the hard lines when engine is out.
Here is the capacitor used for the COPs install, it's needed because the battery is in the boot and can cause voltage drops when the coils fire. The capacitor helps by storing a reserve of power and eliminates any voltage drop. Well that's what I think it does =P
Terminated wiring for the AFR gauge, I used Deutsch connectors and braided sleeving.
Ordered these velocity stack booties from Outerwears, quality seems good but I'm not 100% sure they will provide enough filtering. So might experiment with some foam as well.
Anything that fits over the mouth like a foam sock or booties is detrimental to power. When they are fitted you lose any effect the ram tube has. Typically a set of foam socks will lose around 8rwkw on a car making around 130rwkw.
A well thought out air box with the tubes fitted inside it, or these K&N style units (preference being the 4" version or longer) which you can fit a ram tube underneath are the best I have seen on a dyno

Those booties look rubbish. I'd be more concerned of them coming loose and getting sucked into the motor.
Plenty of info about regards filtering but it is hard to maintain power while keeping the nice view of the stacks.

No issues with the booties coming loose, they were nearly impossible to get on, very tight fitting. Main concern is their lack of filtration but I also have a set of Uni Filter socks which are probably better filtered.
A air box is something I want to try later down the track, goal is to get the car running first =)

Air boxes, yes. Plenum style manifolds with single t/body, no.

Small update today, some more work done on the car and more parts acquired.
Finished the bracket mounting for the brake prop valve.
Had these bolts machined so that the head was shorter, these bolt the fuel rail bracket to the head and there is sh*t all clearance. These should help out a bit.
Engine and gearbox was in preparation for the new head and getting a workshop to dial in the camshafts and adjustable cam gears. I've also picked up a new NB 5-speed gearbox to replace my old one. Will be replacing all the seals in the box too.
Received my custom CNC laser cut stainless radio panel, allows awesome fitment for DIN head-units and space for a gauge. These can be made for 2 and 3 gauges too, even 4, 5 and 6 gauge configurations. Matches well with the KG Works tombstone.
This is what it looks like on a regular tombstone, not bad ey!

A few more pieces of the puzzle done today...
First up was to complete the brake prop valve relocation, had a mobile hose come by today to get the hard-lines made up. I used some coat hanger to dummy up the bends and he took over from there.
So that's my coat hanger template, pretty happy with the way it's laid out.
The existing front passenger hard-line was re-used by just bending it to the required shape, a new line and joiner has made for the rear brake line.
The smaller lines going from master cylinder to prop valve were bent up, following my coat hanger template from above. Turned out alright, could be better though.
All the brake lines completed and prop valve successfully relocated.
In other news, my 4.778 ratio diff gears have arrived, these will go into my Cusco 1.5way LSD, paired with the NB 5-speed box this will be an awesome combination for my high-revving engine.
Not too bad ey!
Finally I installed my KG Works tombstone and the stainless radio panel. I like it much better now, but is it too much stainless steel? Time will tell...

Thanks mate, loving the retro look but I think I might just keep to the KG Works cluster. Think I've decided to remove the KG Works tombstone for a standard one, I don't it goes well with the rest of my interior which is more "standard" and minimalist.

Yeah I agree with you, love those door cards too! But like I mentioned above, don't think I'll go through with the retro theme any further than the KG Works cluster. To make it all work, I think a lot of other things have to be done and I don't really have the time at the moment.
Yes and no, not even sure how long I'll keep the current gauge (AFR). Don't think I really need it after it's all tuned, but I might put in a oil presssure/temp and water temp gauge. Who knows, but if I do than I'll figure out something better to do the mounting.

I've been dreading this part of the build, was never sure how I would do it and make it neat. But everything is coming together now and so I had to do something.
Because my custom fuse/relay panel sits where the ECU normally goes, I've had to install the ECU in the glove box. It's not a bad spot to put it, just my solution isn't clean for my liking.
I had to remove all the internal sides of the glove box, gives much more room for the harness to hook up. I'll also make a short serial cable pig-tail so I can hook up the USB connection.
All the studs were epoxied into place, not very clean and not sure if it'll be strong enough. So I might go over everything with some fibreglass, any thoughts?
Test fit was good too, but I'll let it cure overnight before I tighten up the nuts.
I also decided to use the stock tombstone, goes much better with the rest of my interior. So the KG Works tombstone will be up for sale soon.
