I've been searching all over the place for a guide on replacing the stock head unit. I've found a mass of DIY removal instructions and tib bits here and there in various forums all over the place.
Has anyone found a guide on connecting an aftermarket head unit to the bose amp?

4 channel amps can be had for as little as 100 dollars, I cannot imagine, unless there is a patch loom or simple diy, that it is worth trying.

The impedance is really weird too, it's not standard stuff (including speakers).

Yeah I've gone down that path before, PITA to mount it and cable it all correctly, I'd rather just solder a few wires

I'm only changing the headunit to get USB/MP3 support, I don't have a problem with the sound volume or quality its putting out now.

Does the bose amp have rcas?
Or an rca level input?

Naa Dann, there is 2 pissy little amps stuck under the dash about the size of a packet of ciggies. I think 1 is for the mids and 1 for the tweeters. Would be heaps easier to just connect the wires.
Give it a crack yourself or drop it to a shop. It won't take them long to sort.
Richard.
