Cheap new Kumho KU31's

Postby Earlybird » Fri Sep 07, 2012 5:07 pm

Hey all,

Just thought I'd share a bargain with you all if your chasing new tyres.

KU31 Kumho's in 195/50 15" for $83 each :)

http://www.ozzytyres.com.au/store/tyres/kumho-195-50r15-81v-ku31.html

Can't wait for my Chaparral's to arrive now and get these fitted.

P.S. I have no affiliation with seller. Just stumbled across this when looking for new tyres online and have no idea how long offer will last.

Well......when I stumbled across this on Friday arvo there was only about 30 mins left to make a decision (so I bit the bullet and ordered 4) and when I checked again last night to see if it really was a one off offer, there was another countdown going.

Perhaps it mat be an extended offer? Either way you can't beat the price. $332 for a set decent tyres (not fitted) :D

I was originally looking at some on fee bay for $92 each but then freight was added to that. :|

2 have 2212 on them and the other 2 have 2412 on them (numbers protrude from a oval indent in sidewall) so they aren't old stock...which makes it an ever better deal

Used this to help find what to look for http://www.bridgestone.com.au/tyres/passenger/care/age.aspx

That'd be late May/early June, so near new. Great deal. I'm telling a mate to get a set of these for his road (only) car.

I brought a st of KU31 from Tempe once. They were only 18 weeks old when they arrived on my doorstep. Not bad considering they'd spent 8-10 weeks in a contrainer and in customs.

Seems KU31 has been replaced by KU39 which may account for the discount?

Don't know where you got that from.

Kumho site doesn't even show KU39 available in 15" and KU31 still in their line up http://www.kumho.com.au/kumho/pcruhp.kh

Like the Bridgestone RE001 is being replaced by RE002 so the KU31 is being replaced by the KU39.
Could it be that oz is the dumping ground for superseded tyres?
Sort of ...there are new European tyre regulations that KU31 fails , but still a good tyre
sold more cheaply here now.
KU39 seems a higher Y rated tyre ,and got 3rd in the Wheels annual test. I just bought a couple of them in 205 45 16 from Bob Jane where KU31 was $163 and KU39 $200.

For those interested in cheap KU39's looks like a good deal is going for these too. http://www.ozzytyres.com.au/store/kumho-215-45r17-91y-ku39.html

It seems to me that this tyre dealer has genuine specials all round and not just on tyres that may possibly be superceded.

Are these Korean or Japanese make?

I have had Kumho 31s from both countries!

I'm sceptical about Ozzy Tyres customer service, but glad you got a great deal. I grew up around the corner and have had many dealings over the years. Price is great, however other aspects lack.
