Reccomended brake pads for fast street

agreed! or TRW/Lucas.

Another vote for the QFM A1RM.
Never had a problem with them on the track, Motorkhana or street use.

I have never had a problem with any brake pads for street use including occasional track days. I find it all a bit academic unless you are really chasing laptimes and running hot lap after hot lap.

I put Yellow Stuff in mine from MX5 parts.co.uk and they are perfect. I expect them to be good on the track to for my ability and limitations. lets face it, MX-5s hardly eat brakes in comparison to other cars.

I would look around for any of the obvious contenders that are at the best choice. Include original Mazda pads in your search.

I don't think you'll particularly notice the difference unless using race pads on road which will tend to squeal a bit. (Not all of them).

Really? I've noticed big differences between pads for street use. Initial bite and total pressure required can vary quite a bit.

yeah, QFM and TRW are twice as good for the same price.

agreed. i ate through over half a set of bendix ultimates in one track day. qfm's stood up to 2 track days and are still on the rear of my car 3 years later.

thanks for everyones suggestions - i actually purchased a set of front and rear QFM A1RM's from GSL rallysport in QLD. Ordered them over the phone on Thursday afternoon, arrived Friday morning in Sydney! Great service and easy to deal with .

No drive impressions yet as I have a ceased drivers side handbrake mechanism which stopped me dead during my installation attempt on the weekend. I will make another thread about it as I have a solution that will help other members.

Could you post up some feedback after you install them and let us know how it felt like? as i'm looking at upgrading my brake pads too, thanks
