There was a trend among Hot Rodders here a few years ago and they were using a two pack satin clear with just a hint of colour.

But I think they tend to only do well for big menacing looking cars.

True, the Italians went a bit mad on it with motorcycles as well, the Moto Guzzi SCURA (Dark) and the Ducati Monster both had satin finishes.

With the passage of time and after seeing a few up close, I think satin black looks cheap. I wouldn't want to own one long term (or waste my money wrapping a car).
