I didn't read the whole article but I will repeat a point made to us (Works Engineering / Novitec Singapore) by the Novitec guys in Germany, which is what matters more in the weight of a wheels is where the weight is.

That was a very interesting point...and took me a bit of thinking, duh!

Fir those who don't know Novitec, they are a German tuner of Ferrari and Alfa Romeo. Very specialist and do great work.

That affects accelerating and braking only, not ride, grip etc.

Still important obviously :P

that was a pretty interesting read. id like to see an article on the size of a tyre sidewalls. how much is too much? do we chase the smallest wheel that will fit over our brakes or is there more to it? and if so, how much more?

Makes you wonder is maybe the relationship between the width of the tire and width of rims had anything to do with it.

Maybe the old suspension books and 949 had it right.... Run wide rims..... (not talking about jdm stretch fitment here)
