OUCH!!!

I've had a few close calls in mine too due to no fault of my own. I drive like a cautious motorbike rider in traffic since I know I'm difficult to see but sometimes incidents like this are completely out of your control.

I hope the frame's not twisted. My sister's friend got clipped in the rear corner of her Ford Laser (was only 6 months old) and though the damage didn't look too bad, they wrote the car off because the chassis was so badly twisted.

Hopefully it'll "buff out".

Good to see you're OK. Let's see what they say about her. Could bring the tidy up a bit forward!

Thanks for the kind comments guys, here's the Merc, looking back with a clearer head, I don't think it's a 230E - looks more like a 2000-ish C220. Any punters care to confirm?

I'd say I came out better off! I felt really bad for the guy, as he was I'd estimate in his mid 60's and really nice about it. First thing I did once seeing I was ok was to go and ask how he was. I checked the car afterwards strangely enough.

You do sound remarkably calm about all this.

I think you should be preparing yourself for a write off.

It won't be a ride off, limited vehicle and cheap fix.

If it was the rear it would be gone however. Fronts an easy fix.

If it was just panel, but it seems the Merc slammed off the front wheel. That's gotta hurt. Hard to tell from the photo but Mazda and SE part prices....

Its just suspension arms 2 panels and pulling the subframe, possibly swaybar.

My guess by memory anyhow, Im not looking at pic right now.

Close enough assumption, the front left may need some panel work around the top of the strut but it looks shallow.
I wish I could upload my repaired photo, was atleast 3 times the damage!

What SE parts are needed? Headlight?

I hope I'm wrong but that looks like a write off to me.

Mazda ask something like $800 each just for the wheels.

Is there damage to the hood or doors?

Good to hear your both ok, after seeing the ferrari fly through an intersection on red, I always check both ways when entering intersections.
