NA6 Turbo

Postby whitena6 II » Mon Sep 10, 2012 9:52 pm

Hi everyone. The name is Matt. I bought this NA6 in October last year. It had been modified a fair bit already, but I decided to take it to the next level and redo it to my taste. So I drove it around for a while, while I collected the necessary parts to modify it into something I'd be proud of. I took it off the road in March. 6 months later (over budget and over time of course!!), and its pretty much done! just a couple of little things left to do. I have done all the mechanical & electrical work myself, at home in my garage.

Here it is at its first outing yesterday at the MX5 Club meet at Gledswood Homestead

It now makes 141kw at the wheels @9psi. Tuned at Unique Autosports, Seven Hills

Seems somewhat familiar, I loved this thing in it's old form.
I hope it brings lots of joy to you. It's a pretty sweet machine.

Thanks for the feedback. Feel free to leave comments or questions.

I can't seem to edit my original post anymore. I forgot to add a few mods:

Jet Stream carbon fibre exhaust tip surround
Bonnet gas strut kit
Brushed aluminium cluster bezel
MG washer bottle
Goodridge stainless steel brake lines
And I think the 3 point strut brace is actually made by RS Aizawa (looks the same as the Carbing one though)

Thanks mate. The wheels were a big decision during the build. Tossed up a few options but eventually decided I wasn't going to make compromises on this car. So bit the bullet and forked out the $$$ for the SSRs. The custom colour turned out pretty sweet too I reckon.
