Thats kind of what I'm trying to achieve,Will leave the rims as is for now but I might paint them a couple of shades of grey darker if I think it needs it.

Yes Pete T&C exhaust is next on the list, it was actually ahead of the wheels but I got a pretty good price on them so I got them 1st.

Due to a half arsed bid on Ebay I now have a crystal blue hardtop, We got quite a few laughs & lots of strange looks driving from Williamstown to home in the malibu with a blue hardtop (beautiful color combo). It was still good driving home I had forgotten how different they feel & sound with a hardtop on.
My reason for bidding on the hardtop is part of my long term plan, when the finance's allow my other half will trade her Yaris in on a slightly bigger car allowing me to sell my daily drive (focus) & get a 2nd MX5 (probably a NB) & use it as a daily drive/ track car. When this happens the hardtop will go on that so it is less prone to vandalism, having had a roof slashed on my 1st MX5 I am a bit more worried about parking a softtop car in certain places these days.
Thinking I will paint the hardtop black so I can use it on either car & it should look good regardless of what color NB I end up with.
As a result of now having a glass window softtop & hardtop both with heated rear windows I think I better add connecting up the rear window demister to my list of things to do.

Having never been in one with a hard top how is the feel different ? Does it stiffen them up ?
With two laps to go then the action will begin, unless this is the action, which it is.

I don't think they stiffen up the ride, I have a heavy type style bar that would do more towards stiffening the ride, its more about transforming it into a tin top type of car.The feel inside the car is the difference, more about the sounds inside, instead of getting all the road noises from other cars around you, you just get your own engine noises. Mine has got a std exhaust so I'm not really use to hearing it but with the hardtop on I can hear my own exhaust noises. The most noticable thing is the size of the rear window, vision out the back is heaps better.
I think I read somewhere that the track guy's like them because they get better air flow over the top & quicker lap times as a result but you would have to comfirm that with someone that has raced with & without one.

Put in a new head unit over xmas. Very cheap, head unit & cubby $120. put it in because this has ipod connectivity. Quite surprised by the sound quality makes good use of the clearwater speakers that were put in by the previous owner.

129 klms Changed the engine, gearbox & diff oils, changed the oil & fuel filters. Replaced leaking CAS gasket hopefully that will put an end to the annoying little oil leak at the back of the engine. Gearbox & diff oil looked to be still pretty clean & the fuel filter didn't look too bad either.
Made a few additions since last posting, I have put in a BD rollbar, replace the arm rests with leather door pulls & put in a set of I.L motorsport aluminium pedals.
Photo taken while on the Tassie tour with the MX5 club, I think everyone who owns an MX5 should take it to Tassie & drive on their magnificent roads. The thing I really liked over there was that you don't have to travel too far away from the major cities before you are on some of the best roads you will find anywhere.

I have my eye on one of those OEM Kia head units. To date, are you happy with the sound quality and functionality?

For the price, they are packed full of features and not over styled and really suit the MX5.

If you don't mind, can you please take a pic with the unit on? I would like to see how the display looks with the back light and text.

Your car is looking great, a fine example of a NA6!
