Well I may not be in WA for much longer due to BHP's decision to not go ahead with the outer harbour project (we have still not been told our fate), however I will be at QR and have planned to be at Lakeside as well. If I do have to change jobs I will just have to tell the new employer that I have already made plans :)

I'm planning on attending, and will be paying shortly, but have this quick question...

1) I can bring someone along to sit around the pit area, take photos, generally hang out?

2) Can this person come for a ride-along or drive? They'd need a helmet right, but do they have to pay if a passenger, what about if they drive 1 session instead of me?

answer to [1] definately YES!! Anyone is welcome to come and watch without charge

As for [2], Driver only during runs, but if time permits AFTER the runs are completed they could have 'passenger laps' and if that does happen [no guarantee] then NO helmet is required as the speed permitted is not maximum but limited to 120kph

Each driver must be a separate entry with AASA licence, Club Indemnity form, QR General Testing form (and entry fee I suppose). Check with the Competition Secretary regarding entry fees for a "shared" entry (one car, once per session with alternate drivers) as there is no provision that I can see for this in the club's track day arrangements.

Entry paid 8)

What's the go with scrutineering? who does it, what do they look for etc etc?

Anyone know if the transponders are for sale yet?

28 day forecast is looking better.
Cheers,
plohl

There is no formal car scrutineering at these events.
It is responsability of vehicle owner to assure vehicle is safe and road/track worthy.

Have a look here http://www.mx5clubqld.com.au/?page_id=35 it will give you most of the info as to class as well as "Don’t forget your helmet, ankle, wrist, neck cotton clothing and of course, your car in good running order." from http://www.mx5clubqld.com.au/?page_id=33. Also don't forget to have your paperwork as well.

Thanks guys.

I'll most likely be racing the day before at the dirt sprints (if any one is interested, come and check them out! http://iwmac.org.au/), so my car will have a going over by CAMS scrut's. It'll be in a worthy condition.

Going to be a big weekend! I have a bit of prep work before hand too :?
