Ok yeah there is more than one Audiolink product, sorry . If you have that one then it should remotely control iPhone. However, as per my previous comment, I wouldn't bet on it providing a seamless experience with no issues...

I've seen some positive feedback on the Audio link, but alas I cannot get mine to work no matter how I configure the files so it'll be taking the long haul back to the UK.

I'm not really sure about swapping the head unit out as I might not hang onto the car for that long, and I do like the Boss output. might just have to live with the 6 stack CD.... realistically that stores enough playtime, just too lazy to burn CDs!

Hey all

Has anyone got Ipod connectivity in their NC? Ours has the factory BOSE system and i want to be able to run the ipod through it.

I have heard no good reports about the factory ipod adaptor. It is very expensive and most say it sounds shizenhaussen and is clunky to use.

There is a cable on Ebay at present that apparently will suit the NC Bose head unit.

Anyone tried it or can recommend anything else?

Is there any way to get the Bose system to work with a later version Gen4 iPod with the OEM iPod connector. I have an old iPod classic which works perfectly. When i plugged in the iPod Gen4 the head unit did not recognise it. Is there any fix to this or is it just one of those things?

I bought a Belkin iPod connector for my NC from eBay for about $45. It works great with the Bose audio setup and charges the iPhone at the same time.

I'm using a Belkin AirCast Connect with the Bose and very happy with how it works.
Good value at $30 from eBay.

Thankgo for have children in their 20's. amongst their friends they were able to rustle up a number of discarded early geneeration iPods. Should keep me going till I replace the head unit with a more user friendly and better sounding(?) unit.

You will have to becareful with replacing the Bose HU. I did and regret it. Spend $100 odd dollars on the facia and connections.

From memory, aftermarket HU's output 4ohm where the Bose outputs only 2 ohm's. This caused MAJOR distortion from my speakers and i had to end up removing the aftermarket HU and reinstall the BOSE HU with an xCarLink.

My 2c on the xCarLink: Good addition but wouldnt have it if i didnt have to replace the speakers for an aftermarket headunit.

Your probably lucky haven't started distorting on stock HU, your pretty lucky. I have a few friends (including myself) who have distortion even with the stock HU.

Both other cars have a much better units - either OEM or aftermarket. Just hope the old iPods keep working
